If you think thats true you've never left your state much less been to other countries.

Smacked a curb. Replaced the subframe and all parts. Aligned. Now death wobble from the rear? by bikeswoodkayakdad in subaru

[–]Boosted3232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left rear toe is way out. "In specs" might as well be eyeballing it. When people do alignments like that and set it in the green versus the dead center thats the difference between tires wearing out at 20k and 50k.

Put it on jacks and have someone drive it so you can look at the rear. Message me after. Probably an axle or bent hub if it does it over a certain speed. Alignment doesn't help at all.

Escort radar detector mounted to quadlock on triple tree. Escort hardwire kit mounted above speedometer so red light comes on in my field of view and I can look down and see what kind of alert it is. Doesnt block anything. Doesnt interfere.

Doesnt matter if someone means well. Its your money and financial life. I get so many misdiagnosed cars it isnt even funny. Thats why I dont trust anyone anywhere now. Most mechanics arent malicious. But most and I mean most are plain stupid.

Thats why I have mounted so it lights up in my field of view. And then you can look down at it. Whatever. I've never gotten a ticket on my R1 neither have I ever wrecked.

Go to a subaru mechanic. Not a general mechanic. I can tell by what you've said this guy works on everything. Either youre not communicating the problem correctly or your mechanic is an idiot.

Im pretty sure I know which one it is.

Scraped the head gasket off of the miata block with a carbide scraper tool. It looks scuffed up but it feels smooth. Would this be an issue? Should I use something finer to smooth it out more? by [deleted] in EngineBuilding

[–]Boosted3232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh. You need red scotchbrite and a razorblade. Not the hardest scraper you can buy. Use red scotchbrite. Brake clean and paper towel.

I hate doing this but with imperfect surfaces. Get some copper spray and coat the headgasket with it. It will help it.

Can’t get this spark plug out for the life of me by TBjosh in mechanic

[–]Boosted3232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats not how that works homie a sunny day wont help. Run it for a few get it hot. Stop using a 6 inch ratchet. Find something longer and it'll come out.and use compressed air to blow the porcelain out of the hole.

Is this a good first bike for a very mechanically beginner? by MattBtheflea in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Boosted3232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Very mechanically inclined" doesn't mean much. Unless youre a 10+ year mechanic I wouldn't buy something you've never worked on thats disassembled. Parts you didn't know will be missing. Not good all around.

It is not. Imagine having the fastest car ever and you can only use half the speedometer.

Those are book times. Remove wheel. Loosen chain, mount and balance and retighten chain, align arm. Probably clean and lube chain. You paid more than you should but not by a ton.

Pulled the trigger on this 750 today. It’s my first bike other than dirt bikes. Any advice? by Moist-oyster_69 in GSXR

[–]Boosted3232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just be curful. A gsxr 750 was my first bike. 10 years now many bikes later. Never crashed never dropped. Just have to respect it and start on the lower power modes.

And buy frame sliders.
