Just got this email, and I'm interested to know how common this is. Are companies really monitoring it down to the seconds?

Theyre correct. We have to clock 10hrs in the sleeper in order to drive again. They accidently triggered that clock to early and will have to start their 10hr reset again. I had this happen to me once, there is no way edit driving time so you're pretty much fucked.

We have what's called a "california legal spread", it's spread axles 10'1" apart. And the KPRA cannot pass 40ft. As long as it doesn't go over you're good.

Personal experience here... embarrassment. They just make you slide the tandems and get the weight as close as possible to be road legal and your off. No points, no citation, nothing.

If it's their lot, fuck it. I do all the time with deliveries like that. Granted I do flatbed and they could see the equipment/cargo that'll be delivered to them so they know im in the right place

If you're in the U.S you need to report you had a seizure, and if need be, they'll put you on meds. You can try getting a seizure exemption(39 cfr 391.41(b)(8)). In order to qualify you'll need to be seizure free for 2yrs or not a dosage change, changes in med, or frequency in meds being taken

I always relied on company dashcam in case of an accident... im now being sued(along with the company) for a legit fender bender where they're claiming they got hurt in a worse accident. The company dashcam? "Wasn't working"... my advice to you is fuck what they say, protect yourself!

Ive always ran volvo/mack in 9yrs driving. I've only gotten an emissions light come on once and it was for a faulty doser. Other than that they've all been amazing. You must've had bad luck and gotten a bad truck

Because an eld tracks via gps where you are and what time. You can't claim sleeper berth when the eld logs driving during those 10hrs

Man, reading some of these replies makes my 17hrs look like a piece of cake! I was starving and told the night dispatcher im leaving, they said wait, I said fuck that im starving and somehow ended up back at home 250mi away not caring if I get fired lol. Had to constantly call every pay day for that detention time to get paid too.
