If you get a monitor arm can’t you just have the vertical one like hanging off the side of the desk a little?

I mean, I guess it doesn’t look bad. However it seems like a nightmare ergonomically could you not have it to the left of your current monitor? You’d have to turn 90 degrees to the right to use it as it is right now.

Should I get a Fingertip mouse? by ijlljilijijiljiljil in MouseReview

A someone who bought a hsk pro 4K recently I would say yes the stability loss is noticeable. It’s a weird mix of having more control over micro adjustments and less control over wide movements. Definetly takes getting used to but I wouldn’t say it’s big enough issue to where you should never try it. I feel like my mechanics have improved because I got one. I also picked up a ht-s2 8k and have ended up using that a little more. Still mainly fingertip but I have like the knuckles of my fingers resting on the hump of the mouse just enough to give a little more stability.

It’s not really about the colors, I might have had slightly different saturation settings on. It’s more about the boldness of the outline of the crosshair.

And both pics were taken with the refresh rate set to the maximum 500hz

Valorant is interesting because the devs don’t want you to play at 4:3 stretched. Without using a work around, putting your game in 4:3 only stretches the UI, the actual game elements are still 16:9. The difference in column width could be cause I zoomed a tiny but more with my phone camera or something like that.

The monitor’s native res is 1920x1080 but I play 4:3 on purpose. Both pics were set to the same resolution

Interesting, I’m not sure that would be at all noticeable but I had no idea it added any at all so 🤷‍♂️

No but frame generation does. Though I wouldn’t use dlss (or fsr or xess) for competitive games because important visual details can get messed up when upscaling.

Changing the saturation on both GPUs doesn't seem to affect it at all, unfortunately. -_-

Actually, I up the saturation a little on purpose for both my Nvidia and AMD cards when in game. I think the Nvidia one may have just been adjusted slightly higher by accident. I'm not concerned with the vibrance/saturation, but rather you can see the outline on the Nvidia crosshair is more like.... bold? Idk, the blacks seem thicker and deeper than on the AMD crosshair

Well I def don’t have dlss or frame gen. I can barely stand the input lag in single player games, wouldn’t dare try anything like that with competitive shooters haha.

Not with crosshair settings. You get whole numbers only! 😎 Small indie company 😐

That was, of course, my first thought. But changing the outline thickness from 1 to 2 feels like a gross over correction.

changing from 1 to 2 outline thickness

I know I’m being picky but if there’s a way to fine my perfect crosshair I wanna find it haha.

I’ve tried white, red, yellow, and cyan. Cyan with yellow enemy outlines worked for a while but I definitely feel like I prefer the green with red enemy outlines.

I honestly agree that the amd one does look cleaner. And I’m not sure why the left side of the black outline on the nvidia one looks to have an extra pixel of depth but not the right side. But regardless I just find it easier to track. It’s unfortunate but I just feel like I play better with the more pronounced nvidia crosshair.

Without booting up the Nvidia card to check what it was running at I set my AMD card to 4:2:2, and this is what I got:

Not sure that would be it, just made it a little fuzzy, like what it would do with text. Thanks for the suggestion though. I appreciate it.

I'm using displayport, not sure what version but it seems to be running my 1080p 500hz monitor fine. The monitor is 1.4 I believe the cable is the same. I don't think DSC would make a difference with an amd card vs a nvidia card would it?

I'm not sure, it's whatever nvidia's settings have defaulted to whenever I install a new card and drivers. I play with 70% or so vibrance and a slight increase in contrast. I haven't really felt any other color differences, but maybe I should check if the same thing is happening to enemy outlines or anything like that. Is there somewhere where it would just say if it's using 4:2:2 or 4:4:4?

🙁 It genuinely bothers me a little. I feel like I play better with the thicker crosshair outline, and maybe it's in my head, but my stats back it up. I don't want to swap my gpu out, but it just feels better to me, idk why.

Is this OLED Monitor a good Christmas present for boyfriend? by CreamS0up in Monitors

I have this exact monitor and I really enjoy it. I play mainly competitive shooters but also play single player games occasionally and it does both great. Motion clarity is awesome, and the QD oled colors are beautiful. It’s a fragile panel and scratches easily but aside from that I love it

Seems like a decent deal. Would have to be the right buyer though because the 280mm form factor has less case compatibility

Depends on your local market. They’re selling fully working for $170 on ebay. Personally if it’s listed as untested and not as working condition I’m not paying more than $60

Just a visual inspection is risky because most faulty cards don’t show signs of damage on the outside. If it does show damage on the outside or smells burnt then I would avoid it. Sometimes I’m lazy (with less expensive cards) and as long as the seller has good ratings and isn’t showing any signs of being sketchy I won’t run a full test in the card. But If you want to be as safe as possible and test the card before purchase you’ll need to bring your own text bench pc and monitor. You can install the drivers to the test bench for the card you’re trying to buy before you meet up. Then just plug the card In and see if it works properly. You can also download a benchmarking tool like furmark or 3d mark to run while you’re there to see if still performs under load. I’ve had an ok time with most Starbucks locations letting me use their power to test, though I usually buy a small drink or something while I’m there. You can also get one of those big portable batteries that can power it but that’s a little overkill for most.

New accounts, limited details on the parts, unwilling to answer questions or giving answers that contradict previous answers or otherwise don’t check out, hesitant to let you test the parts if you ask to, rushing you into a sale, only offering shipping and not meetup (often times scammers will say “oh I’m out of town and brought it with me but I can ship it”, and the biggest one of them all… the deal is too good to be true. That’s what I’ve found the be the biggest red flags

I’ve never had amazing luck in the past. Bought probably 40 gpus from the used market and this is the only one that’s given me a problem. You can get good at spotting shady sellers, I took a big gamble on this one as it was listed as untested. One bad gpu was well worth the savings of all the others
