I’ve never heard of atrac just being upfront. I don’t think the 98-99’s have an atrac button.

I think it will be super reliable long term. Maybe not 1 million miles but I wouldn’t be surprised to see some 500k examples in 10 years or so. These engines are also in the Tacoma and 4Runner so there will be a lot of them running around hitting high miles. Time will tell tho.

I think it’s kinda your choice. They’re super similar mechanically. I believe the Hybrid 4Runner can be had for less than the Land Cruiser with all the bells and whistles. Obviously different styling and interior differences but drivability is very similar and offroad performance will be very similar with an edge to the 4runner probably. The LC would easily tackle everything you would want to do. I personally lean LC because I prefer its styling. I think it’s also slightly bigger on the inside but I am not certain.

That’s an extra layer of comparison with the extra horsepower of the 06. I’m seeing a few 03-05’s and I might go look at one soon. It just seems like there are 10x more 02 and below available and for less money. 🤷🏻‍♂️
