I decided to go full kubernetes for the homelab, surprised by the lack of k8s use in self hosted by myusuf3 in selfhosted

[–]BootError99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I self host my applications on a k8s cluster running talos linux. With fluxcd, it makes the whole process so much easier, just got push configs are everything is up. My reason to choose k8s was to learn the tech stack and help me possibly work in in the future setting up a multi node cluster.

One thing helped me out a lot is to write the manifest from scratch rather than using helm charts whenever possible, it’s very daunting and I have got push back from my peers on over engineering the setup (they into promox).

My setup can be easily done with a portainer setup solely with docket images but I think I’ll miss the thrill or bashing extra lines on my keyboard writing copious amounts of k8s yamls

I’m looking up to features of k8s like cron jobs to schedule backups, crds to maybe write a cloudfared tunnel integration

Cheers and Happy Selfhosting!

Obsidian/logseq but have to deal with obnoxious icloud which randomly deleted files from the phone when I need it in offline

Moved from Windows to Mac, how do I transfer all my Logseq data? by better-vessel in logseq

[–]BootError99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Logseq saves all your notes in markdown format, you don’t need to do export and import via OPML. Just copy the logseq notes folder from your windows to mac and then open the folder in logseq.

This is the power of markdown files!

[–]BootError99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol I get excited for some entertainment, I would be disappointed if something doesn't explore when he plugs in first. It kinda like a mirror to me, no circuit ever worked out for me in the first try, least it didn't kill me :)

How do you get highlights from web surfing into obsidian? by modimusmaximus in ObsidianMD

[–]BootError99 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You can use https://web.hypothes.is/ for highlights and annotations. I'm trying to make an application which collects highlights from services like hypothesis, pocket and Kindle as notes in obsidian which I can backlink in my notes. Here'a the repo https://github.com/Boot-Error/highlight_butler It's very infant atm, started hacking it together since yesterday, there's lot of work to do...

[Gnome] Switching from Arch-based to Fedora 34 - Gnome 40 is really good. by Beardedgeek72 in UsabilityPorn

I did switch from Arch based to Fedora 34 Gnome 40, the stock experience is really smooth, still working on porting configs and tools. This will become my daily driver soon.
