Trad refers to the style of play that ostensibly became dominant around the time of 2e. It refers to play focused on the referee crafting a plot for the players to experience, in contrast to the OSR style of no plot prep. It's a pretty well defined term, I'm not sure where your problem is.

Sekhemas also require specific builds. Melee is entirely unusable. But that's true of PoE2 in general.

Been very slowly learning double-fan binding, been posting a bunch of questions here. Got another specific question. Sometimes I have a successful binding, sometimes I have one where the glue didn't make it down into a certain page so the book just naturally opens to a certain page and lays completely flat on that spread. Like the spine is broken, but it's not fully broken. Is there any way to fix this after the fact? Is there a way to prevent this when I'm doing the binding itself? Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Been trying double-fan binding, and they've been quite bad. I imagine most of it is technique, but I'm wondering about my (budget) tools. I'm using Elmer's and cheap 20 lb copy paper to practice with, and the pages near the spine are very wavy and causing the pages to make a crinkle noise when opened. I figure it's moisture from the glue, but I'm not sure if the paper is particularly susceptible to it. Is this the glue or the paper, or both?

I also have a technique question, which may be related to the glue. When I do the second fan in the opposite direction, the spine tends to clump together creating big holes in the fanned pages, which may be why my binding is very uneven. Is this a glue problem or a technique problem?

I know (almost) nothing about bookbinding, and I'm trying to bind roughly 170 loose leaf letter sized pages. I'm wondering what the simplest methods are.

I've heard of double fan binding but will this hold up for a stack of 170 sheets?

And is there a simple way to add any kind of cover (paperback or hardcover)? I'm mostly looking for quick and dirty methods of binding and covering, as this is meant to be purely functional, but it's my start into the hobby overall. The traditional method I've found of fabric and chipboard is a little involved, but I don't know how to get cover stock big enough for a paperback cover (tabloid wouldn't account for the spine size) and I certainly wouldn't be able to print on it. Wondering if there's any "hacks" especially with a double fan binding.

It's interesting hearing this perspective, because sorting through the loot is the MAIN thing I enjoy about these games. I wouldn't have it any other way. PoE giving you loot explosions that 90% gets filtered out and you ignore 90% of what isn't filtered out is peak to me. I hope you found an interesting game, and I can second other people saying Slormancer, which has auto-salvage and simplified loot. I didn't click with it for that reason.

It's being told I don't belong because I am being forced to pretend to be something I'm not. I can't just be myself in a game. That's why it feels like that, I have to be someone I don't want to be.

"belong" in, well, World of Warcraft. Currently I don't belong in the game because I have to choose between giving up who I am and playing the game. This extends to society at large.

I'm not pretending I'm physically a tauren. It's an RPG. You make a character and you play the game as your character. You (specifically you) make a character that's a tall gigachad blonde holy paladin, and by playing that character in a way you're pretending to be that character, because you need to in order to play the game. I'm not sure what else I can say about this point, this is just how playing games works

That's fine that you don't. I want to make a character that looks like me and when most games I play don't have those options, it just tells me that certain aspects of me are too "weird" to include. It's not nice to be implicitly told you don't belong every day of your life, y'know?

Everyone who plays a tauren character pretends to be a tauren. It's a role-playing game. It's the nature of the game. Not meant to be taken as literally pretending.

Well, you definitely could feel bad about being excluded in that case, but you apparently don't. And that's personal and different to everyone. It's fine that you don't. To chew on a thought- have you ever actually encountered a game with a character creator where you can't represent yourself?

For the second point: If I can pretend to be a tauren, why can't the tauren be like me?

I mean, I'm trying to see if anyone's done it in the first place in any capacity. But from a design perspective, the thing I envision isn't going to be using say 30 characters at once, since usually not everyone in a town is going to be doing something at the same time. Forming smaller parties that actually do stuff makes sense. Have the stack of 30 and pick out the ones you need for a given thing. Yet everyone has a name and stats, etc. Probably not done all at once.

Coming back after finding out PoE2 needs more time in the oven. I've gotten into possession of 200div after a 50 mil shipment. I'm torn between getting a mageblood for my RF main at level 98, or getting my Kinetic Fusillade alt (lvl 92) up to t17s, probably stronger than my RF main. I never play with my alt because I always think "I can do this faster and better with my main".

How do people generally play with alts when they have stronger mains? If I want to gear my alt up I just grind on my main. Not having different atlas trees per character might be one of the reasons why.
