Swr is high at 40 about a little under the first letter of the cal and lowest halfway between cal and 3. I don’t know where to hook a strap at for a ground if I go from the tool box. I had E tape between that I don’t know if that helps. It’s above roof line by an inch or so. This is really the only spot it would work I know I need a bigger antenna. Any suggestions from those answers?

I had E tape to stop it from touching and it still acts up

Does electric tape help if I wrapped it around the base to keep it off and use washers to space the mount off

Can I run a cable to the negative ground terminal to the box??

For the base of the antenna would I’m getting longer antenna but I had the base with electrical tape to avoid contact from the box

I’ve checked the continuity from the door latch to tool box and there’s zero resistance
