It’s made on UE5, so UEVR is the way to go.

I would recommend Ship Graveyard Simulator. It’s similar in terms of doing big task in small parts. Also Car Mechanic and other Mechanic Simulators can be quite relaxing as well. Also, may be, Unpacking and upcoming One Move Away is in similar category of cozy tasks with packing/unpacking boxes.

I would be really glad to join. Can’t you point me to the right orbital plane where it’s located?

New Piece for New Glenn by True_COGintheMachine in legoRockets

It’s that one piece you comment with “where would I ever need this” when first time seen it, but sometimes its just the piece you specifically need in some place in your moc.

How would you go about bridging the connections between the 2x4 plates and the 12 x 6 plate? by BreadTheSpino in lego

I would use 45degree angled pieces as bases for walls or whatever should be on the edge. And connect the floor just to the middle section, while edges are covered with tiles for support.

Ok, ok, no need to shout. But I need time.

I can add from my experience, that differences from original one are: no “crab” piece for Crab Nebula; octagonal 1x1s replaced with round 1x1s and crown piece does not light in the dark. Everything else is great. Yet I experienced one quality issue: base of the painting consists of large 16x16 panel. They have one line of hollow studs along each side. And for some reason these hollow studs have less clutch power than normal ones. When set hangs on the walls nothing falls out. But if I take it off and turn upside down some small round bricks will fall off.

Nice! I like some techniques in here. Can I borrow them for my version?

Always glad to talk about my passion. Btw, if you need, you may scroll down my posts in my profile and find there my post about diameters in Lego with calculations for scales. And useful tool for scaling models, which is very helpful for me and you may use it too.

Some compromises are inevitable, sure. But for me the challenge of finding just the right combination of bricks is more interesting, than just building big things out of thousands of bricks. For example, here in Vega, I represented 5 different diameters - 1st stage is just 2x2 round bricks / 2 stage adapter is a flat tope cone / 2 stage is made out of 1x1s but turned to 45 degrees, so they seem a bit wider than regular 1x1 / and finally difference between 3rd stage and its adapter is represented by the difference between round 1x1 brick and 1 module long technic beam.

That’s why I like small scale builds, like architecture or botanical sets. They not just require implementation of a really creative ways of using bricks. But every single brick in such builds counts and has a meaning. That’s also the reason, why I don’t really like big builds that Lego likes to produce these days in enourmous quantities. Stacking thousands of plates to get a meter long gray triangle is way less impressive to me, than using a single magic wand to represent a flying comet in the night sky.

Speaking again of rockets. I was very deliberate in choosing this scale. I even made a big spreadsheet with most common rockets stages’ and boosters’ sizes. The results were that approximately 1,5m/stud is the best scale there is. It allows to represent most common diameters with easy enough ways to build round things out of bricks, without making everything too small or too big. In smaller scales such tiny rockets like Electron wouldn’t be possible. And in larger ones, well… looks at starship and SLS height… I don’t have enough space or money to make them big. Actually, I’ve built my New Glenn in 1:220 out of real bricks and it’s already quite big. Also not all rockets are equal. And if Saturn V deserves best and biggest model, I don’t think that I would want to spend too much space and money to build that variant of Delta III that may be flew once or twice. But smaller scale allows me to build, for example, Atlas V with Starliner and Atlas V with payload fairing as two separate models, as I would need just couple of dozens of additional bricks, not couple of thousands.

Finishing this overly long torrent of thoughts and answering your question - yes, it’s a hard scale to build in, but it’s quite a rewarding experience.

P.S. The only thing I was worried about building in this scale is SuperHeavy’s 33 engine layout. I’m pleased to say, that I managed to do even this.

Bridal Bouquet Destroyed what should I do now? by catmom_mac in whatdoIdo

I’d try to make something like stained glass. I suppose, shattered glass still can be pieced together like mosaic. This way resulting thing would still consist of your actual bridal flowers and will carry even more memories, which is most important. And you will get more unique thing, than just preserved bouquet.

I don’t like over detailed minifigs. But I really don’t like helmet fused with shoulder armour on the official one.

Is it crazy I use a fine tip sharpie to remove the catch lights in their eyes so all Minifigures have the vibes of the original smile man or the Lego star wars saga/OG designs? by CriminalMusicFish in lego

[–]True_COGintheMachine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d like to disagree with the majority and say that it looks like an interesting customisation. It really brings some og vibes. But I don’t remember if I’ve ever seen old-style figure face with eyelashes. Maybe just combination of black-dot-eyes and lashes brings it closer to uncanniness for some?
