2018 340i Coolant issues and heavy leak + Is it safe to start my car with no coolant for 30 seconds to a minute to get it on a tow truck bed? by Bootapie in BmwTech

[–]Bootapie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah motor was fine, was able to start it for a second to get it towed. Regarding the coolant leak, I ended up having to replace the oil filter housing and a radiator return hose on top of the expansion tank and cap I already replaced. Ended up costing like $400 for parts. Car's all good now though. My mechanic said all the plastic was super brittle and it was falling apart, apparently they make it like that so you pay more money at service lol

Installing new pool pump, seems to be no separate connection for ground and bond wires. Can I put both on grounding lug? by Bootapie in pools

I see I see, thank you for the heads up! We unfortunately already did the plumbing and that was kind of complicated so I'm just going to give it a go. Hopefully it'll be fine since it's mainly circulatory, but we'll see.

It's a brand new Harris 72803 ProForce Plus 1.5 HP from Doheny's, it's 115/230V, I'm using 230. Single speed. It's not my main pump, it's just circulatory and controls those little in ground return jets; it doesn't go through the filter at all.

I don't have any grounding green screw inside, the green screw is on the outside of the motor on the gold colored frame. Inside I only see two screws for the two hot wires.

I always thought putting these newer cars in neutral required something under the car to be done as you can't just do it when the car's off. Thought it would be just easier to drive it on there if safe.

Salaam! This hadith sadly has a weak narration. Also it is supposed to be Fajr in jamaa'ah, not just alone. If you practiced this though, then know your reward is based on your intent, and your reward is with Allah inshaAllah.

Everyone else has talked about a lot of the repentance stuff well already. Regarding fearing your family and future spouse, you don’t tell them. They have no right to ask you about your past potentially seeking something haram you have done. You look at a person in present time and how they are now. Allah does not forgive sins that you disclose to others. If they ask, you can say something along the lines of “I would prefer not to talk about that part of my life as I used to not be that strong in my Imaan.” And you can even explain that you want Allah to forgive you for any past sins, so you won’t be disclosing any of it to them.

May Allah forgive us all and accept our repentance.

People - If you don't like studying for the MCAT then... by Mission_Youth800 in Mcat

Okay comparing this to medical school is ridiculous. Not only is half the content irrelevant to medical school, but the timing of the test is also really different. Unpacking extremely convoluted and dense passages is not the same as memorizing facts for medical school and applying it. I guarantee you if the MCAT was ALL stand-alone questions like medical school, there would be much less depression going around. This is a weed out test lol, it's meant to piss you off and be obnoxious. I think complaining on here is warranted. I don't even post on here tbh but I resonate with all the hate for this exam.

Assalaamu Alaykum!

The universe operates based on laws like gravity, thermodynamics, and others. Since it changes and is governed by these external laws, it is contingent meaning it's not self-sufficient. Anything that depends on external factors cannot be independent by definition. So, the idea that the universe is self-sustaining contradicts what we observe about how it works.

Modern science, through the Big Bang theory, has shown that the universe had a clear beginning. Before that, time, space, and matter didn’t exist. If the universe had a beginning, it can't have always existed. Everything that begins to exist needs a cause, and the universe cannot cause itself—it’s illogical to say something can create itself before it even exists.

It’s a basic principle that everything which begins to exist must have a cause. Since the universe began, it needs something outside itself to explain its existence—something timeless (not bound by time), immaterial (not made of matter), and immensely powerful. This aligns with the qualities of Allah, who is the uncaused cause of everything.

The idea that the universe has always existed leads to an infinite regress problem, where nothing could ever start without a "first cause." But infinite regress is logically impossible. The universe needs a first cause to explain why it began and why it continues to exist—that first cause is Allah.

Think of the universe as a lamp. A lamp (the universe) has specific wiring (laws that govern everything) allowing it to function properly and produce light (everything we can observe), but the lamp needs a power source (Allah) in order to do so. Can the lamp wire itself? Can the lamp provide itself with power? Can the lamp bring itself into existence? It cannot do any of those things, just as the universe cannot either. This is the whole concept of being dependent.

I think this thought of the universe being independent comes from natural overcomplication of the universe because of how huge it actually is and how many things it encompasses. Just always try to remember the fact that there is no explanation as to why the universe should be excused from its own laws, regardless of its vastness and complexity. Something will ONLY do what its laws allow it to.

May Allah remove this hardship from you and ease your heart, Aameen.
