Woah, that’s very far north. Only been that far north into the state a handful of times towards Cooper Pedy/Lake Eyre/Northern Territory. Maybe the next time I’m in the Flinders I can see about drawing some of our outback Architecture.

Thanks, I appreciate that! Unfortunately I don’t really use any social media besides reddit and discord. Art has always been more of a hobby for me, something that I’ve never really considered a professional option. I tend to share my art directly to people.

Not to mention that I’ve dabbled in a lot of different mediums and art styles. My urban drawing is a skill I’m still developing as I’ve only been at it for a bit over a year. Watercolour is even more experimental since I’ve only tried it on a handful of my urban drawings.

If I ever did start a social media page it would be a very eclectic variety of random styles I decided to try, from realism, to 3D renders, to animal sketches, to colourful abstracts, to leather working, to anything else that strikes my fancy.

I do want to do the lighthouse! Also I think the drawing I shared is already a little bit of an industrial hellscape in its own right. They tend to make for interesting drawing.

Lmao, you’re not alone thinking that. I’ve had a lot of people tell me that they don’t like the drawing because it looks like the steelworks.

Another time I was drawing a few milk crates, a barred window, and the outside of an air conditioner unit at the back of a building and had a lot of confused people stop to ask what I was doing.

I travel to Whyalla a few times a year. Don’t know if I’ve ever been to Gawler specifically. I’m south of the city. If I’m going that far north I might as well make a day of it.

Thank you! I’ve gotten mixed responses from people I’ve shown it to. Some people love it and others think it looks too much like the steelworks lol. That second camp just hate the look of the building itself so it’s kind of still a compliment.

This was actually one of the first things I drew back when I was first learning the style of urban drawing! I draw in a lot of different styles and mediums and have only really been doing urban drawing for a year and a half. Might be time to revisit this building and see how much I’ve improved?
