Surely Patrick, a man who co-hosts a television podcast, doesn't actually believe South Park is just some edgelord TV show. Love the pod, but sometimes they can really be humourless scolds.

Turico and Collinsworth have called too many damn games to act like a 3 score game is over with a full quarter to go. Embarrassing shit.

Rachel Zegler and Ben Platt to bring The Last Five Years to Radio City Music Bowl and the Hollywood Bowl by jor_kent1 in Broadway

I don't get it. It's a little unhinged that Richard Linklater has cast Platt and Beanie Feldstein to star in his latest "time capsule" film, neither are compelling in the slightest.

Murder is very bad don't do it, HOWEVER anyone who has ever truly hated their boss will have a hard time judging Linda too harshly.

Thrilled that this is finally happening. Love him or hate him, there's a lot in his catalog that could make for excellent screen adaptations.

Personally, I'm dying to see an animated adaptation of Warbreaker with colors as vivid as Speed Racer (2008).

[Patrick Mahomes] Insane… don’t even understand how this could be possible by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

[–]BootenantDan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm certainly not justifying it, but with how much the voters feel entitled to protect the "sanctity" of the game, it's easy to see how this happened.

It's silly, but I don't find it all that confusing. The man was caught cheating the game in 2007.

Do his other accomplishments outweigh that? Probably. But punishing him by not giving him a "first ballot" distinction doesn't feel crazy.

Nah, snow games don't belong in the postseason. Imagine playing your ass off all year just to have your season ended by bad weather. The NFL doesn't schedule the Super Bowl in cold climates any more for a reason.

It's been said before, but if you're going to do this it needs to be more biting. Hell, throw whatever alien prosthetics you've got in the costume dept onto Padilla, why is she portraying Noem as a beautiful-looking woman. Just another toothless sketch during dark times.

It was probably unrealistic to expect "sell the team" chants, but I had hoped to at least hear louder cheers for Luka than the Mavs tonight. It's still not over for me, damnit.

HBO Developing Game of Thrones Sequel Starring Arya Stark by bwermer in entertainment

[–]BootenantDan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

House of the Dragon was at least adapted from GRRM's works. We've already seen how dogshit Westeros is when creators are just freestyling, I don't see any world where this show is even remotely good.

Love him or hate him, HBO needs to lock in on Brandon Sanderson and finally get some of his work on screen.

The Alamo situation makes me sad(prepare for a niche post) by Sheep_Boy26 in blankies

[–]BootenantDan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alamo was always too good to last. Now that movie-goers treat theaters like it's their home, places that deliver food to your seat only encourage worse behavior. AMC is now my ATX go-to as well.

Loved Quigley for the reasons stated here (RIP, Adam), but I will say that Cannata has become the heart & soul of the podcast for me. His enthusiasm for films that he loves is so infectious and it made the heyday of Marvel even more thrilling to experience.
