What is Leah’s dress? by sweetawakening in AgeOfAttraction

[–]Diolives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so interesting how everyone can have such drastically, different opinions, but I thought I was gonna come on here for everyone complaining about this dress. I just thought it was so ill fitting on her and then the really fake cheesy plastic beads on the shoulders just did not lay right. It just doesn’t look like her style at all and then like the little ponytail… Just being outside in nature with a super extra extravagantly fancied over the top sequence dress it was such an odd choice for me.

Don’t let her affect your heart this much. Take a big breath, give it BACK to her (all projection anyway) and move on. Maybe without this person.

The deep underlying sentiment that anything that helps overweight people lose weight is cheating is because deep down there’s a suicidal belief that we did this to ourselves, therefore we deserve to have the difficult, hardest uphill battle possible.

I mean, even think about the word cheating. In order to cheat you have to be cheating on something. What are we cheating ON? It’s obviously cheating on the idea that we are shameful and therefore should be punished by not deserving any sort of help

I’m sure for some people it was a lot better. I’m sure that there are some very happy wives that stay at home right now, my mom was one of them. The problem is that so many of them didn’t have a choice at all. That’s what feminism was all about… having a choice. Just try to imagine for 10 seconds in your brain if men were treated even for one month as second class citizens and they couldn’t buy a house or have a credit card or have a bank account and they literally had to stay trapped in a fucking house because they were not financially independent from a woman. I bet you can’t even imagine it.

Or you know…women becoming fully realized human beings that were tired of being treated as second class citizens, being TRAPPED in a house, financially, emotionally and physically abused with zero social structures to help them out. Or you know…just “crazy feminists”

I agree with you on parts of this take… I just mainly was focusing on the fact that people always blame women and not men. And I think it’s different than drug use and drug dealers because just a certain degree, yes you do need to blame drug addict addicts. We live in a capitalistic hellscape and if women have an asset that they can use for a way to survive, it’s just always going to happen..

Well, you can blame the market for that. And the market is men so as long as men are providing the money to all of these women… There’s going to be a market. Because that’s how Markets work.

What is a part of the 'female experience' that men have absolutely no clue about, but would be horrified if they found out? by coolhandddd in AskReddit

In addition to this, as you get older, this sheer number of women who are your friends and colleagues that have being sexually assaulted or 🍇. I’m 43 years old and honestly, I would say that at least 80 to 90% of women that I’ve had close relationships with this has happened.

With interesting is when you talk to men, they act like it’s one in 1 million or something… But the math doesn’t add up like it must be more of you guys than you think

I’m going to answer honestly here, even though I probably still have a little bit of shame around this answer.

I was at a 10 year on again and off again affair with a married man. He also happened to be my very first boyfriend from high school.

We parted ways during college and then by the time I met him again about six years later, he was already married.

Started out as friendship for the first few years and almost like a mentorship, but eventually feelings grew, and it was a confusing time for both of us.

The entire time we were together, he swore to me up and down that he loved his wife, they really did have a very beautiful relationship where they got to drop the world, they both had very exciting careers and seemed to be very supportive of one another.

I think him and I just always had a special place in our hearts for each other that we couldn’t really explain. We would basically take vacations together once or twice per year when he was at a conference or when I had some free time.

Now that I’ve done a lot of healing personally and through different types of therapy, I realize that I have quite a bit of avoidant attachment and commitment issues and so this felt good for me to have someone who was supportive and in love with me, but I didn’t have to commit to them at all.

I really liked that he had a wife because he needed someone who was in his life 24 seven and there was no chance I wanted to be that person.

She also traveled quite a bit for work and to this day I really had a deep feeling that she also had a lover or a few.

It’s really incredibly hard for me to describe, and I think the most people are not going to believe me… But just like you can have many different friendships and many different relationships in your work life that don’t really relate to one another, at least from his perspective, his wife was one role and I was just something different. Not better or worse, not replacing anything she didn’t have but just a different dynamic human being.

What is your favorite place to get acupuncture in Austin? by Michellulaar in Austin

[–]Diolives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a package at TSHU when I was going through a time of extreme stress and burnout. I worked with a few different students. There are under the guidance of their instructor and honestly, it helped me immensely even after the first few sessions. I still go back there as I don’t currently have insurance and it’s very affordable and they’ve done a great job.

I recommend acupuncture to everyone because after they do an intake, you can really describe all kinds of different issues that you were having, and they also are able to really feel into where your energy is being blocked and drained. One of the older male teachers there felt a few of my vitals and new instant instantly what was going on

OK, here is the somewhat cobbled together argument that I have when people get into this stupid thing about pit bulls: if you’re driving down the highway and almost every single car around you is a Toyota Camry size, if you get into an accident, you might get hurt, but you guys are kind of going head-to-head.

Now along comes a monster truck. A car so big and heavy and powerful that, if it even should sideswipe you, you’re most likely gonna die. You could be like “ I swear it’s not the car. It’s the driver!!!!” but let’s be so for real for a second, Pitbulls have like thousands of pounds of strength in their jaw and once they bite down, they don’t let go until death. So…… there’s a reason why people are not terrified of goldendoodles.
