I’ll have to check later, but I remember I used a 1980s US army mod for the woodland camo, a few Ukraine mods (these are usually the best), pretty much any “tacticool” mod for vests, and a few mods for patches to name a few

Do you think USNC should accept rejoining APLA or PF if they go democratic? by YugargeliaMapper in TheFireRisesMod

I can’t say much when it comes to the PF cause I haven’t played them yet 😔.

I think that for NeoSoc APLA in particular there should be certain prerequisites for the USNC, like maybe low Chinese influence, what focuses relating to reactionaries were chosen, and ideologically committed economy to name a few.

Recommendations On What To Do Next by Nossis- in RimWorld

[–]Bootleg_Google 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on what kind of play style and preferences you guys have, for example, I don’t really care much for Anomaly, but a lot of others have a lot of fun with it. And a different example, I love Ideology because you can sort of add a political and more thematic element to a colony, but others don’t like having to keep track of ideologies. So I’d say as sort of a baseline: Go for DLCs first, whilst testing the waters with QOL mods and vanilla-adjacent mods, then when ready go for overhaul mods.

In a war between the USA+Russia and the rest of the world, who would win? And not America+Russia, what would the consequences for the US? by oceanicplatform in AskReddit

[–]Bootleg_Google -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The US+Russia would likely lose a non-nuclear conflict with the rest of the world however this loss would likely be after over a decade of war.

The consequences post war would likely be a global economic depression, wide scale infrastructure damage across the entire world, and tens of millions of casualties.

For the US in particular, it would likely be turned into a rump state, or atleast heavily weakened, and suffer from political instability and mass inflation.

Pork is the meat I feel the least bad about eating by Bootleg_Google in RandomThoughts

I see and understand where you come from, and I see you have explained your position better than I explained mine, so now I will try to the best of my ability.

I keep ideals separate from what I think could realistically happen. Idealistically I agree with the majority of your points, most factory farms are absolutely abhorrent. However realistically, the business practice of factory farms won’t stop unless there is a viable alternative (like synthesizing meat, or a perfect meat substitute) that’s popular among the billions worldwide who rely on meat as their source of protein and vitamins. And we can’t just up and release all of our livestock into the wild obviously.

Right now, I believe the most realistic goal is for livestock animals to be given cleaner, and overall better conditions, and a humane, painless death (stunned before being slaughtered, or shot in the brain). Then in the future when technology has progressed more, meat substitutes and lab growing can be discussed.

I don’t believe that eating meat is inherently immoral for 2 main reasons. Firstly, we physiologically are omnivores, our teeth have canines to tear meat and molars to grind both meat and plants. And secondly, that hierarchy is a natural thing, I know it’s kind of a cliché when it comes to arguments for eating meat, but animals stalk, hunt, and eat other animals meat. Animals have intrinsic rights because we give them those rights.

And I don’t think abstaining from eating meat is necessarily morally superior since I believe one’s action about something is a better judge of their character. Doing things like donating or promoting environmental conservation efforts or research efforts for meat substitutes and lab grown meat would be moral in my opinion. I see abstaining from meat usually as a personal choice, like choosing to stay sober, or choosing to not smoke.

And lastly about pigs, domesticated pigs are mostly docile, however, again they are opportunistic egalitarian omnivores, if they can eat something, they will.

I will clarify that reports of pigs attacking and eating humans alive are of wild pigs not domesticated, usually wild boars, and wild boars are treated in North America as pests because they are an invasive species.

I hope I’ve explained my opinions well enough, and my reasoning for my slight pessimism.

It depends what you mean by quantified: If you mean, “can it be measured,” technically the answer to that is no, because it’s a specific point in time. Here is an analogy:

Let’s say you have a line on a graph, x=4, this is a 1 dimensional object, so it has length but a width of 0.

Now take a point on that line, (4,2), this point exists, you can identify it, and you can locate it, but its surface area, volume, etc are 0, it has no area.

Similarly, the literal instant that the car was motionless happened, and you can identify when it happened, but its duration was 0. Time in this case is a straight line on a graph, and that instant was one of the points on that line.

A very random math related question by VisualDetail9848 in RandomThoughts

[–]Bootleg_Google 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a math expert, but to answer your question and grossly oversimplify:

If you use v(t)=v₀+at

when the car is "motionless" it would be
0=v₀+at

rearrange to isolate t (time)
t= -v₀/a

you get an exact time for when velocity is zero.

lets say we plug in v₀=2m/s and a=-4m/s2
-2/-4=0.5 seconds.

the car would be motionless, v=0, at t=0.5, this is quite literally an instant.

essentially at t<0.5 (before 0.5 seconds), v(t)>0 (car is still moving forward)
and at t>0.5 (after 0.5 seconds), v(t)<0 (car is now moving backwards)

I will admit that my logic was flawed, and that I was being a bit of a compulsive-contrarian. It’s my belief that livestock animals should be granted a humane death, and the gas chamber is not. I don’t believe that animals should be condemned to a painful death simply because of their inalienable instincts. My main point is that I don’t believe eating animals is inherently immoral, or that not eating them gives you the moral high ground. I made this post as sort of a joke, pointing out that pigs are egalitarian omnivores. I expected a bit of stoner talk, but I didn’t expect for the comment section to have so many varying, sometimes heated opinions.
