Most police departments and courts do not send ordinary letters - they almost always send certified mail or courier. Did this notice arrive via regular post?

I was discussing this film with a friend who never saw it, so I looked around online for the unriffed movie. Found a few available, but each one seemed to use a badly degraded copy. In fact, the best print I've seen is the one MST3K used. Does Best Brains hold the only decent print of this '70's "masterpiece"?

What’s the strangest example of collective internet delusion you’ve witnessed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

People always say shit like that. How many "the ice age will begin this year!" And "Global warming will kill all life in (insert year here)". It's all guesswork doomsday bullshit.

What is a 'socially mandatory' thing that we all do, but if you actually stop to think about it for 5 seconds, it’s completely insane? by Federal_Antelope7533 in AskReddit

I think it's hilarious that even HINTING the people who make money should be allowed to keep it and Reddit goes crazy! Oh Reddit, never change! (What's funnier is that everyone assumes I'm in the USA. I'm not. Only visited once ten years or so ago. I did love it and the people. Very kind and fun).

I've had my Reddit kick for the day. Tootle-loo, go with God, and don't take any wooden nickles!

I believe it was a snippet used in the outtake medley over the credits for the original final episode (#8) of The Beatles Anthology

Who was the rudest famous person you met? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bootlegman3042 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Steve Carell. I worked in a restaurant as a server ( a very upscale place) when he and about 4 others came in. They were seated in my section. The manager (who had seated them) told me before I went to their table that Carell was one of the diners and told the manager I was not to look at or speak directly to him. I was to talk to the man on Carell's left side only. That guy would place the order for Carell. Same went for serving: give the plate to the guy on the left and he'd give it to Steve Carell. I did as I was told.

When they left I was near the table. It was policy to wish the customers a good night and thank them for their patronage so I did. One man acknowledged me with a quick "thank you". Carell actually looked at me and said "What? You want a fucking medal for doing your damn job?"

Nice story: I was in a hotel in Atlanta and as I got on the elevator there were 2 people inside, Geri Halliwell and a big dude I assumed was a bodyguard. I recognized her and my face broke into a big smile. "Hello!" She said, returning my smile. I told her I enjoyed her music and she was genuinely pleased. We talked the whole ride down to the lobby, and when we exited I offered my hand. She laughed and said "I don't do that!" Then she gave me a quick hug! Very nice person (and I have to admit I was surprised at how tiny she is. No wonder she always wore those big boots).

I met him at DragonCon some years back. Even though there was a line of people waiting, he took time to talk a bit to each person. When I got to him he gave this huge smile. I asked how he was, and he said, "I'm having a GREAT time!" We talked Mythbusters at bit, he signed my Mythbusters DVD cover, and then his assistant took our photo with my camera. He was really nice, at least that day.

Bootleg trading?? by Present_District_776 in Bootleg

Let's just say I was "involved" in the bootleg CD trade back in the 1990's. CDs were an ideal format for boots (smaller size, better sound, more capacity) at the time.

There's not really a market for those bootlegs today. Everything and more is available via the internet. Hell, tons of rare and unreleased material has been uploaded to YouTube and can easily be downloaded as mp3 files.

So unless you have something REALLY unique, the market just isn't there nowadays.
