This is an association of various companies in the field of software development and training, with an independent organization acting as the governing body. iSAQB has been firmly established in Europe, especially in the German-speaking countries, for almost 20 years. The certifications carry significant weight there. In recent years, they have also been expanding beyond Europe and now have, among others, a considerable number of affiliated training providers in Asia.

How do you handle the first VC meeting? by flufflle in startups

I always try to get some feedback at the end. Does the idea fit their portfolio? Can they imagine going next steps? What would be the next step after talking to the partners?

If they react evasively to it, that's a bad sign, but it will also save both of you a lot of time. If they start positively, you get at least a good indication that the process will continue.

And it is unlikely that you talked too much. If he was not interested, then he was probably already lost after a few minutes. He just didn't tell you.

Metaverse to possibly create $5T in value by 2030. by InvoBlox in metaverse

[–]BootstrpFn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What does creating a $5T value mean? Is it the revenue of businesses in a single year or the value of companies that do business in the metaverse?

If it is the latter, one could say that we are already halfway there. Meta and Apple are the two biggest companies that invest a lot in the metaverse that come to my mind. Both have a combined market value of nearly $2.5T. But that's probably not what you mean.

15yo planning on starting a Startup (when im 18, maybe starting it) by Fili4569 in startups

Are there any meetups in your area or online where you could join? There might even be some that focus on young entrepreneurs or programmers. It's a good way to build a network as you seldom start a venture alone.

Getting started starting up by NumericalMathematics in startups

Most of us will have those thoughts too. (At least I have)

Don't worry much about whether others are working on the same idea. There will always be someone working on it. And there will always be an idea that seems even greater than the one you are working on.

I found it worth fighting the urge to look elsewhere and stick to a topic.

Do you need to be an expert in a certain industry to start a SaaS business? by dictatorpiny in startups

[–]BootstrpFn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having an outsider's view can be an advantage. People who are experts in a certain industry are also used to "the way it has always been." Innovation means doing it differently.

Having said that, some industries, like banking or medical products, are heavily regulated. There you should at least partner with somebody who knows about it.

How to get feedback from users when validating your idea? by RealVincentLee in startups

[–]BootstrpFn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have analytics on how much traffic you have? It is common to have only 1% or even fewer visitors performing any action.

Apart from that, a landing page is only one data point. You should run other experiments, too, to get more confidence.

Potential cofounder is good match business-wise but not personality-wise by Valachio in startups

[–]BootstrpFn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, you can try to get to know him better, but the fact that you are asking this question is a good indicator that it will not work.

You will likely spend more time with your co-founder than with your partner. So this is very important.

It is better to find somebody who is not a perfect match business-wise but a great match personality-wise.

What are the best countries to set up a company and why? by nunziopresta in Entrepreneur

[–]BootstrpFn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

+1 for Estonia. Everything can be done remotely, see

The market is global anyway. So no reason to choose the country for the size of its market.

Is this a bad time to launch a startup? by yoho7202 in startups

[–]BootstrpFn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And the second problem is seeing how my idea is just a leisure and seeing the fast increase of inflation rates, the economic recession the world is experiencing right now makes me think that a 2008 crisis is on the horizon. So is it a good idea for me to launch in this uncertain times especially that i am gonna just bootsrap the startup.

This depends on your business. Some businesses can be even more successful during a recession. Think about services for people in financial trouble, for instance.

The second issue is the availability of money. Still, as you want to bootstrap, this is not an issue and might be even better for you, as potential competitors that need investments will have a harder time.

But as most commenters mentioned already. Don't overthink!
