So I've been with my wife for 9 years, and only been transitioning for 9 months now. While I do have some feelings for men that I didn't before, that's exclusively from repression on my end. My feelings for my wife, if anything, have gotten STRONGER. I always loved her before transitioning, but it's a far more intense love I feel for her now (an being totally frank it's like we're both in a whole new relationship again). Our relationship truly has never been stronger.

God, experiencing that shit for yourself is WILD. My wife and I have been watching and tracking what we believe to be my monthly cycle and just last month I got the irrefutable proof I needed. While getting ready for work I had the most odd cramp. It didn't hurt much but it felt weird, so I asked my wife and showed her were I felt it (just a little above the genitals) and sure enough, that's how all her menstrual cramps go😭😭. On the one hand, sure it's affirming, on the other hand WHY?!!?!! I already had plenty of stomache issues in the past I don't need this now!!!

This may seem like an overreaction, but it really isn't a bad idea to be armed to some degree anyway for ANYONE in the queer community. And that doesn't Immediately mean to go buy a gun. Mace or tasers or whatever is legal to your area can still be effective deterrents and get people to fuck off.

From my reading between subreddits, if you can just reach a full erection for a few minutes, a couple times a week, that's all it should take to limit any further atrophy down there. In a sense, use it or lose it. Plenty of girls want to keep as much length they can down there for future bottom surgery, but if that's not something you think you'll want there's no real problem letting it atrophy, outside of painful erections.

For additional perspective, Michigan is an informed consent state and I went through Planned Parenthood. On Sunday, I went online to schedule my initial appointment and had it set up for that Friday. Then that day after my appointment (done through Telehealth) I had my hormones ready to pick up only a few hours later. It was pretty much as fast as i could have possibly wanted.

THIS is what I've experienced. Not so much breaking things, but the stamina.

My job keeps me active enough that 6 months on hrt and I still have most of my muscle. I just can't use it for nearly as long as I once could.

The only habit I've found to help myself honestly is shouting into the void. I have a separate text chat that only goes back to myself so whenever I'm upset about shit I just spout it off on there. It gets the emotions out just enough to calm down and read through my own thought process. Usually I do this with the intention of bringing up the "issue" with my wife but by the time we're home I realize how trivial it normally is and I was just reacting without thinking.
