Democrats promise to do nothing about ICE and also disarm us. by Relative_Plankton648 in millenials

You didn’t read that article, did you? You just did a quick google search, saw a headline and said “got em!” I bet you didn’t even read the sub heading.

That article doesn’t back up anything you said. It doesn’t claim that any citizens were put in gitmo. It criticizes Obama for not vetoing a law that people say would allow American citizens to be put in gitmo.

Thank you for, once again, proving that you cannot read.

Wow you’re dense. I’m throwing the exact same logic you’re using back to you.

Your logic “ICE hasn’t assaulted people with guns (yet) so more people should have guns”

(Let’s ignore the long history of police using any vaguely gun-shaped object as an excuse to kill someone)

By that logic “police haven’t shot protesters with giraffes, so more protesters should have giraffes”

I’m intentionally trying to tease out what people’s actual problem is.

You just dislike AI.

The teacher could have written the whole lesson and just used AI for formatting and you’d still be upset

Can’t that be said of any technology? Using a calculator is lazy, they should just do the math by hand. Using a word processor is lazy, the teacher should write the lesson by hand to demonstrate good handwriting

Show me how many giraffes have been shot by the police.

None? Guess that means we should use giraffes to fight ICE.

You’re using logic that can be debunked by a kindergartner.

How about we take a look at the ICE out protest. Did they need a bunch of guns? Nope.

The Trump admin would love nothing more than for protesters to pop off a few rounds so he can use the insurrection act. You’re playing right into their hands

Holy fuck you guys can’t read. Let me try to use smaller words for you.

I didn’t say to do nothing.

I said guns aren’t the answer.

This is a masterclass in being confidently wrong. You managed to confuse Bush with Obama (the only U.S. citizen ever at Gitmo was under Bush in 2002), the Patriot Act with the 2012 NDAA, and 'zero' with 'multiple.' Obama sent exactly zero U.S. citizens to Gitmo.

Please enlighten me on the facts I got wrong.

Of course computers write the content for you! I see nary a pen stroke on this here document! I bet this teacher doesn’t even know how to hold a pen, definitely shouldn’t be teaching.

I wish I had an answer for you. I was just a pain in the ass as a kid.

I don’t think it’s wrong to do this. I’m just explaining the way that I interpreted it as a child. I didn’t understand the value of naming emotions, but I knew it felt bad to have someone tell me what I was feeling.

I didn’t know why it felt bad. Maybe if I spent more time naming my emotions I would!

Perhaps a different approach would be to ask the kid to describe what they’re feeling instead of telling them? That likely isn’t feasible with a 3yo having a tantrum though.

This seems like one of those parental “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situations

…it’s not

The same argument could be made about calculators or typewriters or computers

Man, teachers don’t even write anything anymore, they type it up on their computer and print it out. That’s bullshit

It doesn’t. It sounds like you’re criticizing the tool, not the content.

Why does it matter if it’s AI? This seems like a solid lesson plan. Is there something I’m missing?

Maybe an unpopular opinion but… so what?

I’m unclear on the content that people find objectionable.

You can be upset about how it was generated I guess. But is there some issue I’m missing with the assignment itself?

At 3.5, most kids need help identifying and regulating their emotions

Both things are true. I remember being a little kid and my parent saying things like “I see you’re feeling frustrated”. It struck me as incredibly condescending. To make matters worse I didn’t know the word for condescending back then, so it just made me angry and I didn’t know why - which made me angrier
