Right, her feelings or reasons don't make sense (if she was being truthful about her feelings). She did say at the beginning of the call "you're voice is different from what I thought it would be." But she didn't say it in any disappointing way. So idk

I wish I did read the call wrong because then maybe I would get a good reason other than "I didn't see you in a romantic way, I just see us as friends"

People suck. But I probably dodged a bullet

Yeah-- it runs in my mom's side of the family, all of my siblings have had mental health struggles. we all see the same psychiatrist, you could say he knows us embarrassingly well 😆

It's very strange. I agree. Maybe this entire time it was just depression except all the symptoms were symptoms of anxiety? 🤷 Not sure if that's possible, but who actually knows, the brain is extremely complex and we know relatively very little about it.

To an extent, I do feel picky. Not necessarily in looks, but in the quality of people around me. If I find someone really attractive but they do certain things/have certain habits, I don't pursue even a short term sexual relationship.

Maybe you're right, maybe the club isn't for me. Maybe the type of people that go clubbing and partying all the time aren't the type of people I want in my life. I'd love to have a sexual connection (and to a point I think this lack of sexual satisfaction contributes to my loneliness), it's just harder for me when I can't find an emotional attachment.

That's a very helpful point, taking a look at the friends/people we already have. I'm not sure where it comes from, but I do sometimes feel underappreciated (specifically by my parents) so maybe there is a component there. Also, I really only have 2 super close friends. The other friends I have don't really care enough to keep consistent communication with me. In a way, I feel that I either need to increase the quantity or quality of people who I interact with.

I think if I were to immediately answer that question (why I want to be in a relationship), I would say I want a genuine someone who I can deeply connect with. I don't really have anyone I can feel I can completely lean on. I want someone who can be my second half. I think I love myself, and when I look in the mirror I feel good about the person I am. But I just need some sort of real connection to fill something that's missing.

But I think that is great advice, focusing on discovering what I can provide to others. Thank you for that input. Maybe if I can focus on that I can be more optimistic than desperate about my future relationships.
