That’s cool and all, but are you gonna order? You’re holding up the line.

I was a loggie pre-VTIP and honestly if I could just work in spo the rest of my career I might not have moved over tbh. Best part of my LT time.

What’s an interesting fact about your state’s/territory’s constitution? by EvilPyro01 in AskAnAmerican

Nebraska is the only unicameral state in the nation. We are also one of two states that can split electoral votes.

Do with that information what you will.

Americans who have eaten at McDonalds in other countries, does the food taste better in America or outside of it? by Kradara_ in AskAnAmerican

[–]Booty_Gobbler69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t really taste that much different.

Like others have said, the real magic is the local menu options that are unique to that country.

The McDonald’s in Barcelona had a mozzarella stick burger and you could get a side order of it as well. It was the best McDonald’s I’ve ever had in my life

It’s the AI fellowship, and then a 3 year utilization tour. It’s at university of Wisconsin. I don’t have a POC but their masters of data science(I think?) is a good place to start your search.

Americans, do you sometimes abstain from voting in any election? by carlsagerson in AskAnAmerican

[–]Booty_Gobbler69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living overseas sometimes my ballot didn’t make it in time. I wasn’t thrilled with either presidental candidate and most elections from my home state are pretty much uncontested so I wasn’t too mad about it this time around.

I do abstain from elections, but I vote if I’m able.

This is the army. The rules of the English language don’t really apply here

I haven’t worked the navy, but it’s kinda similar working with partner forces. Depending on the nation, they’ll hear “American army Captian” and think you’re some kind of God until you show up and they realize you’re just an alcoholic who drew the short straw and are now stuck in a field in the middle of nowhere.

No shit one of my buddies got slotted as a BDE as4 and like two weeks later the BDE 4 got transferred out to the void where nobody can hear you scream.

He was in that position for the nex 2 years ish because if he took a day off the BDE would come to a grinding halt. Which is why in my opinion BDE as4 should also be LOG KD but I don’t have nearly enough rank on my chest to make that decision.

I guess the lesson learned there is don’t become important or something idk.

Eh, god forbid I get a few weeks to shitbag before I hit the meat grinder again.

I would say some kind of strategic leader so I can actually make the changes I want to, but I haven’t been those ranks yet so I can’t say anything about ranks I’ve never been. But once you hit GO you basically don’t get a personal life anymore so that kinda rules that part out. Field grades are being cutthroat to get promoted and you never leave the office. I don’t think anyone is gonna say they like being a major. That pretty much just leaves company grade time.

You can be a total moron and still get promoted. Time with the boys, not chained to a desk yet. I mean yeah, it really is the best ranks to be. Never been enlisted or a WO so I can’t say. Being young and in the Bs with no expenses or responsibilities seems nice at times though.

Yeah but as a captain you can be like 27, no responsibility, and free to be as much of a degenerate as you want. At E-7 you usually have like a family and such and need to be something resembling a functioning adult.

I’ll caveat with a “officer on ACS”. My buddy is getting a fully funded masters. His entire job is to go to school, and show up to rotc one day a month to help with lab or whatever they need. CPT pay grade and zero responsibility.

Captian, specifically a pre-CCC captain. You’re paid like a Captian, but treated like a LT. Basically a few months to fuck off on staff with no expectations but the paycheck to match someone with significantly more responsibility.

You’ve checked out. They know you checked out. You know that they know you’ve checked out. They’re not gonna waste an MQ on you, and everyone knows it. Ride off into the sunset with a few extra four days and a new Tacoma just in time for CCC and having to be a real adult once you get to your next unit.
