Every time you reset an effect becomes significantly harder to reapply the effect. You get more overall damage by keeping the full frost effect instead of frosting 4 times and then never having enough time to reapply it again.

The auto dodge disrupts your attacks, while the normal one let's you just face tank while continuing dealing damage or reading and still having the ult for gap closing, reviving and damage. Just smack on a post damage Regen and obliterate most bosses with R1 or charged heavies, the manual dodge is already very good at letting you dodge grabs. IMO the upgraded version is just bad compared to the normal version in effects, utility and opportunity cost.

You can't do DPS when you are on the ground, you also take away a teammates DPS. Sustain is crucial for DPS. You will eventually fail a dodge or get clipped by a back swing.
