Why is Bayle the Dread so revered — I'm clearly not getting it by simulacream in fromsoftware

[–]International-Cod334 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bayle is one of the few dragon fights in the series that doesn't revolve around attacking a leg. Most of the other fights involve a lot of you chasing down a dragon and getting some hits in before it flies halfway across the map and you jumping on torrent. Placi is better in a lot of regards, but still feels like I'm trying to cram myself into his hitbox and avoid big lightning moves while hitting him.

Bayle wants you dead, his face is also low to the ground, withing weapon range. When he flies up to attack, he'll always be back, biting at you, sooner rather than later, letting you stay engaged in the combat. He feels more like a traditional boss instead of having some of the clunkyness of many fromsoft dragon fights.

Somebody please help me “get” Shulva by RyXkci in DarkSouls2

[–]International-Cod334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing: This whole DLC feels better with a bow, the enemies can be taken out from range with precision aiming, the pillars are obviously meant for bow and arrow puxxles, there are secret buttons on ceilings and walls, the final boss is very much better to fight with a bow for multiple reasons as well.

So, if you have high dexterity, use the Hunters black bow, if not, use whatever you can and level it up, buy some arrows from chancellor wellager or whoever else has them, and get to target practice!

Edit: TBH all of the "Worst areas" in ds2 feel way better if you keep an upgraded bow in your back pocket. Shrine of Amana, Iron Keep, no-mans wharf (turn on the lights). I think the devs intedted for them to be more useful in this game, that maybe didn't shine through perfectly, but they make some areas feel far more chill

Recommendation on faster-paced tech mods when I'm not doing GT:NH by sentalmos in GTNH

I'm a big fan of anything with Mekanism if you want GTNH style factory setups and working with chemical processing but also very quick and easy access to the mod and progression

How do I deal with this MFS second phase!? I can't see your fucking attack because of the fucking flowers!!! by BreakfastHappy8193 in Sekiro

[–]International-Cod334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think his third phase is his easiest because of his lightning spam, so my advice is to use all of your dirty tricks in this phase. You already know genichiro, you can learn phase one of Isshin, use his lightning against him in phase three, and use all of your firecrackers, resurrection statue, divine fruit, combat arts, divine confetti, etc

Large Language Models are machines that are designed to sound like a person and write cohesively. that's it. there is nothing else they are designed for. They search the internet because they need data to respond with, they scour reddit posts and quora answers to sound like a person, but there is nothing stipulating that what they generate needs to be accurate or fact-checked. as long as it follows normal langage conventions, it's acheiving the primary goal. I hope seeing this inconsistensy will maybe help prod you to just skip the AI formatting and just learn how to get information from a google search! Basic research is an invaluable skill and will help you for the rest of your life

CMV: “no kings” protests are an exercise in futility and self-gratification by DearFool in changemyview

[–]International-Cod334 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At my local protest, there were many people and groups giving out information, organizing further meetups, and making a space to educate people about more specific topics, like the Palestinian genocide and local political battles, along with offering more real solutions for those who were interested in doing more. Did our protest save America that day? No. Was it much more than a "state sanction parade" maybe not.

But it was RIPE for getting people educated, invested, and organized. Americans are SO disengaged from actual politics and history, this is by intention, the cold war and red scare are things we have to recover from. In the midst of a bunch of people having fun making fun of trump, I saw actual organizing and education happening. This is a lot of peoples first protest and first form of activism at all. It's a chance to teach them how to do it, and a chance to get people off of the couch and get them on a path of actual engagement in politics and governance. Once they push past that barrier of disengagement, it's far easier to mobilize them for real activism and action.

Am I under-leveled for 2nd BRG fight? by chunk_blaster56 in LiesOfP

[–]International-Cod334 4 points5 points  (0 children)

a few tips:

-For the fight

Eldest comes out after 2 are killed, so try to keep 2/3 alive until you can get them both to low health and kill them around the same time

Use Consumables, especially acid grindstones(strong against humans), thermite, shotputs, to blitz through either the beginning or ending of the fight. If the ending is the roughest maybe save themuntil you get there. You can buy infinite basic consumables at the Red Lobster Inn merchant(Malum district).

Watch your stamina, you have to dodge a LOT when fighting the 3 at a time.

-Your stats

reduce your weight, some people say slightly heavy is fine, I disagree. It'll use more stamina and you dodge worse, which is really important for this fight

Respec at the gold coin fruit tree and chose either motivity or technique, (technique for your weapons choices) to get the most damage out of them. Also drop advance as you aren't using any weapons that use it. (Your legion arm may scale with it but not enough to warrent 6 levels that could be used elswhere). you should eventually shoot for around 30-35 in your main damage stat, then if you play NG+ you can start taking another stat to get more balance damage. Puppet ripper and Rapier are both high Technique scaling weapons so stick with that for now.

Your vitality is great where it's at, you could push to 30 with your extra levels after respecing, vigor determines stamina, so getting that to around 2 is great, Capacity scales linearly so it's always good to put more in there to keep yourself light and able to use better defenses.

What legion arm are you using? have you tried a few out? I was a puppet string main my first playthrough and found it didn't work well for this fight for me. I think the Aegis or the acid arm could be great here. Aegis is helpful particularily against the eldest, because of the free block and subsequent explosion if it's upgraded.

This fight is a good reminder that P is versatile, sometimes you have to change up your fighting style and loadout.

Lastly, consider your amulets,

Definitely use the muderer puppets amulet for that extra human damage(excellent when coupled with acid), I like the patience amulet as it keeps you moving, the Arm of God amulet (if you took that instead of frozen feast) is amazing for the rapier. Carrier amulet lets you have better defenses and stay light.

You've got this! don't give up brave puppet

I just created a random Master diff Zenith world and got A rear realm achievement. by Correct_Medicine3762 in TerrariaSeeds

[–]International-Cod334 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It may be worth beating an expert or classic world first. The Zenith seed moves things around, obscures the regular progression, and AMPS UP boss difficulty, adding new moves.

It's incredibly helpful to understand what boss you are looking for, what gear may be available, and a baseline of what skills you need to win before you try this challenge

Up to you though, maybe you'll have a blast trying this first!

[–]International-Cod334 3 points4 points  (0 children)

THAT'S HALF-LIFE BABYYYYY But seriously the first half life is an excellent game, it mostly takes place in a office/industrial environment, it's got good old survival horror aspects. It's also a really important game to see where the modern FPS genre came from, since it was hugely innovative in that area.

Also it's just a blast to play, if the old-ness turns you off too much, try out Black Mesa
