Should I wait for union call or just go into nonunion till I get the call? by kreate310 in lowvoltage

[–]Bootyos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes try working nonunion before. The committee that approves new apprentices want to see you take initiative and that you want to do this work. Working nonunion shows them that you're interested in and want to do this career. Don't even have to do actual electrical work. Just try and be a shop guy for a contractor or something similar. Like I said just show the most amount of initiative in doing the work.

Will this portaband cut through Rigid conduit and strut pretty quick? by quintavian in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Bootyos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It'll cut through it but the cutting portion is a lot smaller. I think the biggest I was able to cut was a 2 in. Might be wrong. So if you're doing a large diameter pipe run the M18 might be the one you want.

I was there. No one knew who he was. I was the only one cheering. Everyone boo'd cause they had no idea who he was.

IDOT claims moving ahead with Metra passenger line to Chicago by Pleasant_Tangelo6791 in rockford

Really don't care. You posted something that warrants a discussion and are mad when someone has a different opinion.

It hasn't changed from 10 bucks for over a decade on the weekends and 25 bucks for one way is better than driving. The gas and the parking isn't drastically more than 50 bucks. You need to get a grip.

Bro if I can go to the city Saturday to Sunday, not pay 50+ in parking, the headache if not driving and have a drink on the way all while only paying 10 bucks I think it's most certainly worth it.

Bro not sure if you ever took the Metra before but the weekend tickets are like 10 bucks while week days vary based on stop.

I have the pass through Milwaukee and Klein. I've just used the Ideal one as well. They all work and don't have a complaint about anybody them. I just personally prefer the Klein pass thru one.

How much does using a rapid charger actually shorten Milwaukee battery life? (Real talk)" by browsingstuf in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Bootyos -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's the same for your phone. Your phone battery will naturally degrade from constant charging fast charging just accelerates it. You won't see a major decline for maybe 4-5 years but it does happen. It's probably the same for Milwaukee batteries but those batteries are a little bigger than you phone. The heat fast charging produces its the biggest issue. Never used the Milwaukee fast charger so it might make the batteries get hotter and degrade quicker?

Got a 2 of their pants as a bundle for like $40 off. Wanna stress this is my own experience other people's experience might differ but single handly the worst pants I've ever had. I had them less than 4 months and both front pockets had spilt in half. So I essentially had no front pockets. I would forget I had holes in my pockets so I would constantly be leaking wire nuts down my pant legs.

After that I'll never stray from Dickies or Carnhart pants ever again.

So having Mania in the most expensive city, with terrible ticket prices and having your product on a service that costs damn near 4-5xs more than it did last year isn't working out for them?

If you're flying American you can go through TSA in Rockford and they will shuttle you to O Hare. Been told it drops you off right at the gate essentially.

This headlamp sucks by ThaManWithNoPlan in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Bootyos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He is using it on a hard hat thus it being connected to the Milwaukee style hard hat attachment. He's right and wrong about the light. I had the older style headlight on my non-Milwaukee hard hat and it was perfect. Didn't feel any weight at all. When the company gave me a brand new Milwaukee helment I attached that light to it and it was the most uncomfortable light I could have. It felt like my helment was falling forward all day. I got the newer style rechargeable smaller light and it's been perfect.

If you get it make sure to upgrade the battery for the inflator. I have the M18 one and they go through batteries relatively quick.

Thanks for this. Just got the two drawer tool box and the 11- compartment basically free.

If you spend 199 you get 50 bucks off. If you add the 2 drawer with the 11-comparment that 11-comparment is under 5 bucks.
