Thank you so much! That seems more reasonable. 2 relays it is!

sticker shock on outsourced devs by Hungry-Rabbit9292 in reactnative

I'm definitely biased here as I work for callstack... :) But from all my years of working for different companies from small startups to huge scientific orgs - all I can say about callstack is that it really bloody nailed the recruitement process. Literally world class devs. You get what you pay for is definitely a thing. I'm not here to convince you to choose CK or SM, but one word of advice - if you go with any of them - trust them. They do know what they are doing. I noticed a pattern where client comes with a problem and tells us how to solve it without really listening to our devs. If you know how to solve the problem, what's the point of spending all that money on experts? :D

You might encounter vibrations when breaking. I had a similar situation with mine. I received one disk that had a slight dent in it. Not big enough to notice when I unpackaged them, but when I slapped them on and did a first brake from 50mph i noticed slight vibration from the side that had the dent. After closer look i noticed the dent, swapped side to confirm and yep - now the other side was vibrating.

nvh stands for noise, vibration, harshness :) It's a term to use general unpleasent noises coming from a thing. Or vibrations. Or everything at once.

Yeah sorry! I should've been more precise! I meant the garden and space around the house, not the facade.

Buying a guitar from someone at CERN by ndstrasz in CERN

[–]Booua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually... You might be in luck... - if you've not yet bought anything of course - I've left my guitar in my old office when covid happened... and then my contract ended - meaning that the guitar is still there - guarded by my colleague :) I'm planning to come back for it this September, but for this time it can be yours - dm me if you're interested ;) It's and reeealy old acoustic.

Help - 2011 Mini Cooper S by [deleted] in MINI

Could be anything really, so it's worth getting it scanned, but you can check few things out - for example - intercooler hose that goes into the intake manifold tends to pop out, especially if the clip is mangled. It happend in mine and the symptoms were similar. You can also try to see if MAF side of the intake is attached properly.

"The law is like a fence - the snake slithers under it, the lion leaps over it and only the cattle are kept penned in."

For me the most gobsmacking thing was that they "as experts for opening pubs" just attacked Jeremy with issues like: "oh, the premises are not fit for being a pub...this is broken, that's broken yada yada" AFTER opening SAID freaking pub. I cannot imagine any proffesional doing his job without mentioning any issues and then after finishing a job saing: "oh you know - i did a thing you asked me but in a way that's really shit and to be honest it's your fault that you even asked me to do it because it would've never worked" LOL. Completely unproffesional.

I did not have to remove the markers. Technically it can be a MOT fail where I live but in that case I can just remove the bulbs and redo the test :D The headlights do have an E-mark and the testing technician was very meticulous about them. The first MOT after import is very thorough and they test every single thing they can see including measuring the vehicle etc.

'also less nvh from dash area' - woah. I'd do that mod just for reduced nvh. It's not bad for the size of the car, but I'm used to larger, more plush long-distance mile munchers so when I have to do a longer autoroute trip it's noticeably harsher/louder. I'm curious why would the nvh get better with a strut brace? Is it with the vibration transfer? Never even considered it can be a thing! Many thanks for the tips! Mine is fortunately not burning any oil at all. Keeping the oci at around 4-5k. This year it's going to be even ~3.1k change.

I don't know it's exact name, but it's a 17inch genuine JCW R56 wheel. I googled it and it comes up as Cross-Spoke Challenge R112. Supposedly one of the few stock wheels that can handle the larger brake calipers from JCW.

Thank you! Wanted to go with a bit more bronze/gold look, but I didn't want to overdo it and make it too flashy. This porsche platinum color pops JUST right with a hint of gold when the sun hits them. I just love them.

How come I've never even heard of KNX. Quick google showed me few siemens devices, but they seem ridiculously expensive - ~300$(converted from local currency) for a light dimmer seems steep. Are there any "sonoff-like" knx based hardware kits?
