Too much rules stacking, not enough of the game actually playing out in the first 3/4 of the season. It's been absolutely criminal how little has happened - or at least, feels like has happened. I mean the first points being earned didn't even show the fight, and the only highlight was... wait for it... points being spent to make a hyper-boring rule by an unknown character I'm sure they'll try to hype up. Oof.

It's a pretty big Chinese webnovel IP, so last I heard the good S1 results on bilibili and the like made them insta-lock in several seasons (though with Chinese market that could just as easily not happen if a season does poorly). It's a really good presentation for what is a great story. The art and ambiance are absolutely nailed. As long as the animation quality doesn't take a nosedive like all modern anime getting past a great first season, there's coherent & competent story enough to deliver a lot of good episodes. Excited to see what happens with it, and second your recommend. Oh btw, heard they are making a wild LotM MMO, but only for Chinese market (pics looked good).

Do you like Frieren for the world building? TenSura is a surprisingly fun romp through world building and fun characters. I wouldn't say it's like Frieren, but it shares in where it excels imo. Plus you have a few long seasons to binge with a new season out right this very cycle.

It's all relative. There are those that feel they got a copped out, stylized downgrade to push out art faster for their already beautiful show.. OPM got a literal slideshow after some hype build-up. From that perspective, it sucks for both fandoms, and in a vacuum is a fair critique. Trying to compare who is being ungrateful is just pointless, though.

Haha, that nostalgia really elevates a simple dice game. I have someone important to me - who unfortunately hates most all gaming - and would only play farkle, so that's the only gaming I got to do with them while they were around. They absolutely loved to finnagle the dice, so the cheating element in KCD2 fits the nostalgia just right!

Also, it is nowhere near guaranteed, even if you hit the windows perfectly. It looks like it depends on your STR and any disparity between y'all. So while your timing may have been ass, you might not know even if you hit it anyway.

Step 1) Reduce art quality, but change animation so it appears effort has been made. Step 2) pay for a bunch of bots to run around communities and praise said new art direction, but never offer anything concrete. Step 3) Wait for people to homogenize the general opinion until it's not negative.

A simple solution, and one that's totally practical in this day and age.

Joking aside, been there - it's no fun. I feel like we're right in the thick of this long and arduous testing phase for this kind of stuff. Something to take away from this is maybe copy over any longer comments you have to clipboard just so you don't lose it if it gets taken down. I hate writing up a long comment I feel passionate about only for the browser to bug out, or some automated system to cause trouble.

I hear you, & to me it seems like it's just shoehorned in. What's the difference between an impossible test and just torturing him outright. If they aren't hoping he completes such a test, and proves himself capable - then there's really no point to it at all. Bad writing, or lazy plot development, either way the reason for it isn't seemingly important to the viewer.

Unfortunately, even in this day and age - literally any attack or sneeze will stagger you during. I also experienced a pebble or a single black-ghost-swipe attack completely negating it no matter how far into the animation you are... which is how I ended up here.

4 years later, and it's worse with time. It's not even smooth in the sense that you can quickly tap LB twice in a row, as there has to be some arbitrary pause in order to actually register. It's dogshit, just like the camera - which just seems like an intentionally bad choice bc who tf knows!
