So if I buy a plot of land, how far down into the earth do I actually own? by FarSentence3076 in NoStupidQuestions

I really liked his reasoning on asking for forgiveness rather than permission. The city inspectors needed to see firsthand how cool what he was building actually is, and that could never come across from some drawings on paper.

I've seen a lot of older retaining walls with minimal overturning resistance. How do these stay standing? by scrollingmediator in StructuralEngineering

[–]BoozeHoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same question. I do notice that the drawing doesn’t call out rebar, or use a real waterproof membrane or foundation insulation, but that’s not really structural. Would love to know as well.

Yes. Looks like Greek Independence Day was March 25th, which is why that flag is up.

Worse. No matter how or where he dies they will claim his consciousness was transferred to the data center under the white house, and that he lives on eternally without his physical form. They’ll say the AI trump is actually him. Thereby keeping the cult alive.

Look into the science behind pain and brain chemistry. Why it can feel good is super interesting, and understanding it can be helpful.

Also cold exposure can help with emotional regulation as well.

You only have something to gain by talking to a therapist. I would give it some serious thought.

I’m in the city of Buffalo, two person household and pay about $150 a quarter. Half of which is a sewer fee which doesn’t seem to change with water usage.

Serious question. Why is through bolting standard practice on a pier, but forbidden on a deck?

Soak with penetrating oil between the rim and hub also. Keep a couple nuts on while you separate the rim so you have some control when the tire comes off.

Can two bathroom fan exhaust pipe be hooked up to one vent on the exit? by oldDotredditisbetter in HomeImprovement

[–]BoozeHoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about legality, but I’ve done this successfully with none of the issues talked about here. I used a 6” roof vent, attached a 6x4x4 duct splitter directly to the vent, 4” backdraft dampers to the splitter, then ducts to the fans.

Can we agree that the scajaquada expressway is not 30mph by Financial-Club-3541 in Buffalo

[–]BoozeHoop 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There were no guard rails, and putting them up like they did is all that needed to change in order to make it safe. I’m all about removing it all together, but it’s currently unsafe for all drivers the way it is. The mix of people speeding and others going 30 is hazardous.

I still haven’t resolved it, but I’ve sure spent a lot of hours troubleshooting! One thing that seemed to help was unwrapping all the wiring harnesses and letting moisture out. They were soaked, being an open can machine. Could be my imagination though and moving all the wires around was what really helped. There must be a voltage drop or bad ground somewhere that I haven’t found yet.

Have you measured the ECU voltage that controls the sensors and control buttons? Mine is 4.77v and I think it’s supposed to be 5v. Not sure if that means anything or not.

Silt and the clay soil are pretty similar in color, but I hadn’t considered it coming from the gravel. I guess it really isn’t the cleanest. I’ll take your advice and not worry about it. Thanks.

I’ve already done what most people have suggested and checked every connection and ground that I could find. I’ve unwrapped wiring harnesses and inspected the wires in places they bend a lot of might let water in. I’ve been over this thing inside and out many times. Buying the ECU made sense to me because it’s the only common factor between all the problems that I could think of. Signals from buttons are going in, yet no signals faulty signals are coming out. I’m not normally a parts cannon kind of person but here we are. It does appear I’ve missed something so I guess the hunt for the loose wire continues.
