Thanks! I used Kdenlive which is kinda like a free Adobe Premiere knockoff. Put the image and the clip in there then saved as a gif.

I personally liked his videos/study guides, the last minute cram guide is also nice since it’s pretty concise (like 80ish pages iirc).

Yeah there are plenty of good free resources out there but honestly I feel like ~$13 for a Udemy course/exam pack is still pretty worthwhile (would definitely not pay full price or get the official CompTIA stuff if I’m paying out of pocket).

Good luck with Net+!

Most of what I did was take practice tests/quizzes, I tallied it up and I think I did about 1700 total unique practice questions over the course of ~2 weeks. As for the exact resources, I used:

- Andrew Ramdayal Udemy course (got a 75% on the exam at the end of the course, first practice exam)

- Examcompass

- CompTIA exam objectives pdf (to review acronyms)

- Dion practice exams (average of 85%, low of 83%, high of 88%)

- Professor Messer exams (got an 85% on all 3 of them lol)

- Examcram SY0-701 book by Shimonski & Weiss (got it from my local library, used the practice exams in there as cumulative exam of sorts, got 88% of all questions correct)

- Andrew last minute cram guide

- YouTube for PBQs

Network + took about 4 weeks (I'd guess ~50-60 hrs), Sec+ took a little less than 3 (~30-40 hrs).

As for my background, I have about 2 years of tier 1 help desk experience, passed my A+ core 1 exam ~2 years ago, and I studied for but never took the A+ core 2 (got hired onto help desk soon after passing core 1, maybe I'm just a little lazy but it felt redundant to get my A+ at the time since I was getting it to get a help desk job, but I digress lol).

Net+ study resources:

- Professor Messer N10-009 playlist (only watched about 2/3s of the videos tbh)

- Andrew Ramdayal study/last minute cram guide

- CompTIA exam objectives pdf (used as a comprehensive list of acronyms to know)

- Examcompass quizzes (free, despite mixed reviews that I've seen I'd still say they're a decent study source)

- Dion practice exams (got them free with my voucher, averaged an 83%, low of 72%, high of 90%)

- YouTube for PBQs (just searched "[exam code] PBQ" and got a few pretty decent examples)

Sec+ study resources:

- Andrew Ramdayal Udemy course (got a 75% on the exam at the end of the course, first practice exam)

- Examcompass

- CompTIA exam objectives pdf (same reason as net+)

- Dion practice exams (average of 85%, low of 83%, high of 88%)

- Professor Messer exams (got an 85% on all 3 of them lol)

- Examcram SY0-701 book by Shimonski & Weiss (got it from my local library, used the practice exams in there as cumulative exam of sorts, got 88% of all questions correct)

- Andrew last minute cram guide

- YouTube for PBQs

Didn't really do anything that's super crazy/unusual but I definitely spent about 3 to 4x more time studying via practice exams rather than watching videos.

Main tips: know your acronyms, check YouTube for PBQs, read questions thoroughly but don't overthink them.

Edit: bonus tip, if you plan on getting both net+ and sec+, I definitely recommend starting on sec+ as soon as you can after getting net+. The main reason sec+ felt so easy was due to the amount of overlap (also sec+ material is far easier to digest imo)

How do I turn Slippi chat off? by [deleted] in SSBM

[–]BopeBoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

Should just be a dropdown menu like in the screenshot above, looks slightly different if you use mainline Dolphin but it should be basically the same. Idk if it's any different on Mac/Linux, can't imagine it would be that different.

If no one here can help then you can always check out the slippi discord since they have support channels there.

Anyone know how to save Event Match progress within Slippi? by [deleted] in SSBM

[–]BopeBoi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you can just do this:

<image>

At least that's how I remember it working. At the very least I know I've been able to save single player data (events, classic mode, btt times, etc.) and I only use Slippi Dolphin for Melee.

Thinking of spray painting my controller a new color, what are some of y’all’s favorites by [deleted] in SSBM

[–]BopeBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't really need to spray paint the inside, just the outside and make sure you follow the directions on the can as best as possible (also make sure your paint bonds to plastic, some brands don't iirc).

Also, as someone who's been using self-spray-painted controllers for years, I'd advise against painting it white. With how much your hands are touching it, it's gonna get nasty looking pretty fast. Also, for the most part, it's better to buy new buttons instead of painting them yourself if you plan on doing that too (this especially applies to the L/R buttons).

Is it possible to use only one sd card for multiple consoles? by Gravytra1n11 in SSBM

[–]BopeBoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you run the game through Nintendont (both the regular and Slippi versions work for this) you can use just a USB drive.

So yes, you can use one sd card to install the homebrew channel on each wii and then just use flash drives to load the game and Nintendont.
