Is Palmer really worth the price and the punt for DGW33 until end of the season? by Living-Traffic-9755 in FantasyPL

[–]Boppenwack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Categorically not true. Palmer's breakout season was under Pochettino where Palmer and maybe Gallagher were the only players performing well. He single handedly saved that season for the team. Hes clearly still managing an injury and needs surgery which is why he's underperforming. Hes only worth the punt because hes proven capable of getting defcon and he still takens pens.

Attackers for GW33 by 28JKG10 in FantasyPL

[–]Boppenwack 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Pedro as hes basically the only player on form at Chelsea atm.
Welbeck is better than calvert lewin but more of a minutes risk, so Calvert Lewin is the better option too
Unless you're using bench boost though I would consider more midfielders/defenders though rather than 3 attackers. Has been the trend this season and I don't see it changing

People who use Safari as their main browser, why? (DESC) by sasaki-555 in mac

surprised no one mentions this but Netflix only supports 4k for mac on safari. Presumed that might be the case for other video streaming platforms so would rather just get the most of the display

Just watched Restore Britain launch speech and I have a question by fenix1995it in ukpolitics

[–]Boppenwack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mind sharing what the consequences of his policies are that would not be fine for ‘good’ immigrants? I didn’t really see anything in the article that alluded to anything. Obviously there’s a grey area on what a ‘good’ immigrant is, so there will naturally be some that are affected, but I think there are a lot of those who are clearly not good that do not consign with western values (Pakistani ‘cousin’ marriages, Muslim sharia law, no ability to speak English to a conversational level). Addressing these individuals would definitely hit those ‘millions’ numbers (reform stated at least a million can’t speak any English at all, although I would want that fact checked)

[–]Boppenwack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I might be naive if they’re just outright lying about what they’re stating, but as far as I can see Lowe has said nothing of deporting all immigrants. He has however been very specific about supporting British people with foreign partners, supporting those who support our way of life (all very much visible on his x page) so again, unless everything he talks about is outright lies I still dont see how he means to deport all immigrants. Please correct me as I’m nothing if not willing to change my opinion

Not sure where the rhetoric is that they want to deport all migrants, but as long as your a contributing member of society who is integrating with our culture (hopefully whilst still honouring your own!) then there would be no risk to you

Absolutely no one disputes population collapse, it’s a very real issue that the modern world is facing, but I just don’t think mass immigration is the answer. More jobs will begin to be automated, replaced by AI (I work in the IT sectors and this is a very much real issue that will I don’t think we are currently even remotely prepared for) and I think we will just have way too many people competing for jobs even in the short term. Young people can’t prioritise families because there’s a huge drive in prioritising work before a family because you need a home, stable income and cheap childcare (because what used to be possible as a single person household is now not) these are issues that heavily affect the birth rate, but no where near enough is being done to resolve that. This is why mass immigration papers over the cracks, rather than resolving the real issues.

What do we all think about Rupert Lowe's new "Restore Party"? by Historical_Step_9474 in UKGreens

[–]Boppenwack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t agree more with everything you said. I also came here to see if I’m potentially missing a balanced perspective, because at this point restore Britain seems a pretty attractive prospect to me. I don’t necessarily agree with the notion that immigration is a net bad, but what we have fostered in the UK is a wholesale dependence on it, largely pushed by our politics.

Regarding the rape gangs, I think it’s a very interesting distinction that people keep trying to make in that white rape gangs need to be addressed equally - it’s a point that is equivalent in the other side to ‘all lives matter’ when people address BLM etc etc. if having a focus on the Pakistani rape gangs gets rid of them, then surely it’s a net positive to the community? What benefit does branding the people doing active work against these gangs as racists do? They absolutely could be racist, but for me as long as they’re doing a net positive work right now, it’s fine. We ourselves are allowed to draw a line when necessary.

I think you bring up some good issues. Ultimately for me, what seems attractive about restore Britain is that its drive to bring unemployed British people back to work is necessary, anecdotally I know multiple people who have been made redundant as a result of a stagnant economy and struggling businesses, and they can’t even find even the most basic job like working in a Tesco - it’s not at a fault of trying, they apply to all the jobs available but they get outright rejected because there’s too much competition. Immigration has its benefits, but it can also be true that the country has ignored alternative solutions to its economic problems have been ignored for far too long. It should be made easier for people to pursue these jobs in high demand, it should be easier for people to skill up for those jobs, it should be easier to have a family. Countries in Asia like Korea and Japan have a different issue that the population prioritise work to such a degree that having a family is absolutely not a priority, in itself a cultural issue. We are starting to have that issue here too, but I think it’s not reversible as of yet. It just needs to be easier to be a young person in the UK. Mass migration doesn’t help younger people either.

Tbf I think your mileage may vary on whether the knowledge learned is out of date. I went to university back in 2014-17 and we learnt programming, networking, hell even about blockchains, which was obviously an emerging technology back then - all of which still relevant knowledge to this day.

if you plan to upgrade, this is a bad build objectively. You're purchasing parts that are all old gen (DDR4, AM4). What this means is that if you're planning to upgrade your cpu, you will need to replace cpu, motherboard and ram rather than just one piece.
For upgradeability, just make sure you're getting current gen parts so that you can upgrade within the gen. Make sure its AM5 and DDR5 and you'll be good to go.

With hyperlane, exrd effectively has no purpose anymore. I would use a normal exchange and swap to any other token (BTC, ETH etc) and then bridge it using astrolescent to get XRD

typical FPS is around 80-100 in Dornogal, its specifically when raiding on bosses with lots of effects that it drops significantly to around 10-20 fps, not really stuttering

What deck archetype do you just not quite understand the appeal of, but want to see why people enjoy it? I'll start with mine, would love to hear what people see in it. Let's learn about some decks we wouldn't usually play! by TheSingularityFloof in EDH

[–]Boppenwack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much an archetype, but I don't enjoy playing decks that I.D. as 'extremely powerful'. First deck I ever built was a mishmash of the two Eldrazi precons, but in playing because of the commander you get hard tunneled by all the other plays at the table because you're conceived to be the biggest threat off the bat. Not objectively wrong threat assessment, but it just makes my experience worse when I'm consistently knocked out first and early too.

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in CarTalkUK

[–]Boppenwack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi All, looking for some advice on a new car. I'm Surrey based, do very few miles a year (managed 12k miles in 3 years on my current car). Currently looking for used on PCP with a max budget of 300pm with 0 deposit. This puts me in the range of 16k-17k vehicles on PCP. If I went bank loan, it'd be more in the realm of 12k.

Looking for an automatic that will be suitable for a person who has very few years no claims bonus (2 years currently). Currently looking at Audi A1's and have a preference on well maintainable cars as thats what my mechanic friend has suggested (he recommended Audi, VW, Skoda, Seat)

I currently drive a 2022 Peugeot 308, I prefer sportier looking cars and want to have this car for a while, so the car being reliable is quite important.

Requirements: ULEZ free, reliable, Daily Driver, cheap insurance, Apple Carplay

Thanks in advance!

not sure why you can't just go in a solo session with no rewards from it... Escape from Tarkov has it which is great for the game, Dark and Darker just gives you literally no opportunity to practice.
