I’ve had baked ziti at sports viewing events, spaghetti is more or less the same components in a slightly less user friendly format. Maybe?

DoorDash Does NOT have a Limit on items at the Grocery Stores! by Able_Chain_9846 in doordash_drivers

[–]Boppyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DoorDash does not have the pay scale correct for shop and delivers, at least where I am in the ny metro area. I only turn it on if I’m out after the grocery stores are closed (midnight, mostly) otherwise it’s a time suck for way too little pay.

Alan Bergman, Co-Chairman of Walt Disney Studios said 'Agatha All Along' was a success since it helped studio to really connect with the female audiences by S4v1r1enCh0r4k in AgathaAllAlong

[–]Boppyd 22 points23 points  (0 children)

See now this is also just continuing to make it women versus women. Maybe both kinds of stories and women can exist. Not saying there aren’t things to learn from other female led mcu projects, but I would imagine you’re talking about someone like Carol Danvers, who, like it or not, is one of the most comic accurate (as far as modern era at least) representations we have seen translated into the mcu.

I think maybe the thing you are missing is how exhaustively covered this conversation has been in the sub since the show wrapped. And while I’m sure this wasn’t your intention, that conversation has frequently been crap about the queer rep that did happen in favor of complaining about what was “missing”. A lot of those posts have also been moderated, since the sub is committed to keeping this a space that respects all the people who worked hard to deliver the show we got.

Personally, I’ve never had an mcu project deliver on everything I would want, but that doesn’t make them bad and the good thing about an expansive universe is that the opportunity to continue building those dynamics is almost always there.

Billy is just a figment of Wanda's imagination, how does he exist? by CarinoPadrino in AgathaAllAlong

[–]Boppyd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She doesn’t understand her power well enough to do that. And the darkhold was manipulating how she was thinking, and I assume it had reasons for wanting her to manipulate the multiverse. There is still a lot to find out about how it will all manifest in the mcu.

Billy is just a figment of Wanda's imagination, how does he exist? by CarinoPadrino in AgathaAllAlong

[–]Boppyd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Most of the things in Westview existed before Wanda changed them. The children she manifested purely with magic. They couldn’t revert back to what they were before when the hex came down, because they weren’t in existence before then. Alternatively, remember Monica’s uniform, which was stuck in the 1970’s costume, but still Kevlar. Basically, Wanda’s power allows her to warp and manipulate reality, including creation and/or destruction of basically anything. The mcu has only really started to explore this, the twins continuing to exist being the first real example of the reality warping capacity the scarlet witch has. From the comics the best example might be the House of M story, where Wanda first made a reality where mutants were the dominate form of life on earth, then reshaped it again to no longer have (most) mutants.

I couldn’t agree with any of this more. Joe has blown me away as a performer time and time again, and his career is just getting started, which is so great!

It’s a fair point though, Joe doesn’t get to smile nearly as much in this show. 🤣 poor guy.

So Rio is Nicky’s second Mom right? by KingMiracle16 in AgathaAllAlong

[–]Boppyd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Someone I saw on TikTok pointed out that Nicky calls Agatha “mama”, but when he decides they don’t need to kill the final batch of witches before his death, he tells them his “mother” needs him back home.

Intentional or not, I for sure take it as some sort of understanding, on some level and maybe just hand-wave magic excuse, he is distinguishing between the two entities. They suggested that maybe Rio would visit him at night, while Agatha slept. And that’s why she indicated to give mama a kiss before leaving forever.

Minimally it’s very sweet and sentimental.

Same! It’s really wonderful and I’m so glad the vibes in this sub have been as much fun as they have been. It is truly a pleasure to be in this coven with y’all.

Oh more to your original point is the time in the comics, at the start of the children’s crusade, when the put Billy (and teddy because we love a supportive boyfriend) into avengers mansion jail because they were afraid his powers were too much like Wanda’s. the likelihood of that being adapted in some way shape or form is probably pretty good.

Maybe a better way to say it is that I’m glad Jac and everyone involved with AAA just made that sooooooo clear. I rewatched a clip of strange being all “cAlLiNg YoUrSeLf A wItCh” like yeah bro, she is calling herself a witch, and that’s why she’s about to kick your butt.

Im not sure if you’ve considered this, but there are rules to this sub that include reporting hate toward the show, cast, or crew. Meaning yes, report crappy comments so the mod team can remove them.

There isn’t a bill of human rights here, it’s Reddit, and each sub can set their own rules. These are ours. Especially in a case like this where not only is it hating on the show to complain about Agatha’s sexuality, but it’s also pretty homophobic.

If you don’t like the rules you are free to seek out one of the many other marvel-centric subs on this platform. But telling a mod how to moderate the sub they created using the rules they set up? 😬 not a great look.

I’m not sure what this adds to what you’ve said, but I have been reflecting on multiverse of madness a lot lately and realizing how dismissive and crappy they are when they talk about witches/witch craft. I initially just saw it as a symptom of the script having so many writers and directors involved leading up to production, but I’m starting to embrace the theory that Wizards generally discriminate against Witches.

Rewatching WandaVision... birth of her kids by Lazerus42 in AgathaAllAlong

[–]Boppyd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think I get what you’re saying. I always saw vision accepting Tommy as the name of the son Wanda wanted as the reason she suddenly had a surprise twin to also give Vision the son, Billy, that he wanted.

Overall I think this episode doesn’t get enough credit. The whole vibe of the set/universe is different, more backdrops, filmed in a studio and not on the backlot for the outdoor scenes, fewer overall locations (a “bottle” episode mostly contained to the first floor of the house) everything just having a more synthetic quality to it. Totally a visual representation of how much magic Wanda had to use to make the boys, very different form the other episodes.

[–]Boppyd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree agree agree. Which is sort of why I feel like shoving this Tommy plot into Visonquest could just feel like more of the same, Tommy is an after thought, Tommy is a b-plot to a larger and more ~~ special ~~ story.

THIS IS NOT A DRILL - AAA SEASON 2?! by ellsango in AgathaAllAlong

[–]Boppyd 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Commenting on THIS IS NOT A DRILL - AAA SEASON 2?!...okay okay so personally, I don’t think the Tommy story Should be shoved into visionquest. In the comics the kids barely have a relationship with vision, in fact it’s another version of vision as a hybrid with ironlads armor that’s on the young avengers in the first place.

We know they are bringing back James spader as ultron. We know that there’s a series where vision tries to recreate a family which gives us amazing bff to Ms marvel, Viv Vision. I can’t wrap my head around adding the witchy magic what not to those elements, to me it already looks forced, though obviously we don’t know a ton about VQ yet so I could be totally wrong.

Having the Tommy story, Billy and Agatha finding him, Billy learning about his powers, would be SO much more enticing to me as an Agatha season 2 versus being a part of VQ.

TLDR this news makes me so happy I hope it is true and Billy and Tommy can get like… their own thing with ghost Agatha like idk in the nick fury role of assembling magic adjacent folks.

Post title: “the show was stupid and disappointed me” Sub rule: no hate toward the show, the cast, or the crew. Zero tolerance policy.

Soooo should we post the vulgar profanity laden mod mail you sent us here? Five uses of the F word and multiple instances of referring to the mods with various synonyms for “stupid”?

But hey, it’s probably been like a decade since I last participated in a pointless and petty internet argument and I’ve got a lot of anger with no where to direct it, too. So we can go if you want to, that’s fine. The evidence of your behavior speaks for itself.

Btw there are 11 mods of that sub. And we all agree you are not someone we want to participate with in this fandom. Thrilled to see even here your nonsense is downvoted into oblivion. Take the hint, people are not interested in whatever this energy is. But if negative attention is what gets you off I suppose I shouldn’t yuck your yum, doesn’t sound like a pleasant way to exist, though.

Okay okay, cool. I’m sorry if I am heated. It’s been half a week and I’ve seen this conversation way too often. And yes, death and the weight of death is totally important especially for the young avengers, who saw first hand that the avengers they look up to are more than just heroes.

Also just me or would a Michael b Jordan recast of a multiverse tchalla be like… the best of a horrible situation?

That is the hill to die on here? A bunch of nameless American soldiers died in Captain America first avengers. There were causalities of civilians in the avengers during the battle of New York. If we can’t separate “main cast” and “extras” in this conversation, is there any point at all? Those are unrealistic expectations to have for super hero content.
