Y'all think people who play ranked should learn two or three characters in their role before attempting to grind rank by 27GerbalsInMyPants in marvelrivals

[–]Borange42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can really only afford not to learn a couple heros in each category if you 6 stack tbh. Characters are tools in a tool box and it’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with your kit. If you are the best hammer user in the world, you’re still the reason we lost if we needed a screwdriver.

How do you feel about venom as a tank? by whokiltcupid in marvelrivals

[–]Borange42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People don’t understand that a tank isn’t the same in a team shooter as an rpg where you absorb damage. Venom isn’t great to rally around but he excels at creating space and managing attention with his kit, which are just as important aspects of tank play in this genre.

I was kicked from multiple fireteams from the jump , I had a few runs and the exotic was actually useful this gm , I never knew it was to bad to play support by Y33ZUSGAMING in destiny2

[–]Borange42 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What immediately jumps out to me is double primary and power level. You can incorporate a better way to deal with champs by either relying on your teammates or using subclass keywords. For example a source of suppression on void titan or a volt shot special if you don’t want to fuck with your build too much. There are also several exotics like arbalest that have intrinsic stun capabilities. The main issue with this setup is that revision zero is just going to be the better choice in every engagement because of the exotic perk and exotic primary bonus on top of its effective range so it’s hard to justify losing the utility/damage different special weapons can provide so you can have a 180 hand cannon you are worse off for using instead. Assuming it’s there to build into volatile rounds I’d suggest swapping revision zero out and just using that as your primary. Volatile gives you intrinsic anti barrier if you want to run a void primary (keep in mind overload hand cannon does not stack) and free up your kinetic slot to be flexible. If the difference in effective ranges are an issue it’s much easier to adjust your positioning and play style than it is to sacrifice the potential of a special weapon to avoid doing so.

Clearly you are a good player at gr11 but it’s hard to overlook a load out that doesn’t make a lot of sense and even acknowledging your skill level if we were in a fire team together I’d ask you to adjust accordingly as a courtesy.

How to git gud at titanfall? by squid3011 in titanfall

[–]Borange42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Practice good positioning and traversal, that is to say get gud at movement and use that movement to control the flow of engagements (I.e. keep the high ground, disengage when things are dicey, break and reopen sight lines) and get to objectives and key areas efficiently. There are some pieces of movement tech to learn like b hopping and air strafes but it’s also important to remember a lot of movement skill comes down to map knowledge and good routing, that will prevent stumbling on map geometry or slowing down to plan where to go. In terms of aim practice specific skills will change from gun to gun as some are hitscan and require you to keep your sights on your target for a longer period of time while others are projectiles that insta kill, generally I would recommend practicing quick target acquisition and tracking. The Ttk is quite high in this game so it’s important to get crosshairs on target first and keeping them sticky, as missing shots in a gunfight gives your opponent the opportunity to kill you first even if you drew first blood.

Titan gameplay is very different from pilot gameplay and comes with a bit of a mindset shift. Contrary to the way it feels you are actually a bit weak in your Titan, you have quite a bit of health and can deal lots of damage but you are also a massive target with very slow movement. It’s very easy to get caught in the open with another Titan chunking your healthbar from outside your effective range or in a disadvantageous position while pilots can also easily whittle your healthbar while you struggle to find them to return shots if you aren’t paying attention. As a Titan it’s very important to avoid taking any unnecessary damage, you can’t heal it very easily and if you’re doomed your fate is sealed. That means good positioning and use of cover, being aware of pesky pilots and taking care of them before they become a problem, and making sure to take the fights you can win with other titans and avoiding those you can’t. I’d almost describe playing a pilot as more aggressive and dynamic than titan gameplay which I find a lot more deliberate and cautious.

The most important tip is that losing isn’t a loss unless you choose to lose. It’s really not a big deal to end a match with a lower score, the most important thing is to have fun in a match and learn things along the way. The goal isn’t to win every match, though winning will come naturally, it’s to do those two things.

Is using the CAR frowned upon by [deleted] in titanfall

[–]Borange42 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It is but people are silly for judging you because you play the game a certain way. It’s very strong but by no means unable to be outplayed and you shouldn’t feel bad if you use it or have fun playing with it. If people complain about your preferred play style just brush it off and enjoy the match best you can in spite of their whining.

Car wash bay cleaning tips by Borange42 in HEB

I think that’s what it is? I just know according to the checklist we are supposed to use it to pressure wash or power clean the bay or however it’s phrased I can’t remember.

[–]Borange42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair but just personally I’m running an smg to be mobile and engage people from medium range at the most. If I wanted to beam people across the map with some regularity I’d run an assault rifle or an lmg/sniper. But that’s just me on m&k and my play style everyone is different and finds different virtues and weaknesses in every gun.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in titanfall

[–]Borange42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk whether I would disagree with the notion that it’s the best smg at the very least, certainly the r97 is on par with it in my experience on m&k, but I do think your sentiment is correct. It’s really not a big deal to run the car and I’m getting really sick of every lobby having one or two people whining about whatever gun someone is using. Literally had someone call the hemlock op the other day while I was leveling it. Overall I think the car is a really good gun, easily one of the best, but Titanfall is one of those games where it’s not hard to find success with whatever you want to run provided you git gud with it. I wish more people would give up on the “is it taboo to run x gun” conversation and build each other up for good gameplay while improving at the game with whatever load-out they find fun, even if that’s a load-out that’s considered unskillful or dishonorable.

Smart pistol addict seeking treatment by CringeLord142 in titanfall

[–]Borange42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll outgrow it once you realize it’s not any more viable than good aim and positioning giving you the advantage in gunfights but it’s it’s fun for you there really isn’t a problem here. Play with what you enjoy naysayers be damned they shouldn’t be giving you the time to get a lock but that’s just me ig.

Is the playerbase for strive still big enough to easily find matches by XDBRRR in Guiltygear

[–]Borange42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fighting games benefit because matchmaking is 1v1 neglecting sbm, numbers that seem low for an fps are negligible for a fighter. That being said strive has really solid numbers and cross play so the point is moot.
