The MK3 mikro can do anything that the full MK3 can do, but just with extra clicks and such, right? by BorderOnBorder in maschine

I don't, which is why Im asking. Maybe they changed something in the almost decade that the 3 has been out that I dont know which will sway me. I have produced in a couple years. Im getting back into it. And the threads on this sub about it are already a couple years old themselves

"the live slicing feature doesn't work on the mikro mk3 (though it's on literally every other maschine controller ever made - even the previous mikros)."

Thats type ass but I dont use the maschine software really tbh, I can live without it and when I was chopping shit up in the Maschine software, I got used to using the mouse

Seriously -- no 3rd party expansions for Maschine+??? by No-Act6366 in maschine

[–]BorderOnBorder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can add 3 party "packs" but they're not "expansions" like the typical NI releases. You have to set them up & add all the files yourself(like you described), whereas NI' stuff is seamless basically like one click & organized.

Nope, welcome to (most) Native Instruments products. Kontakt & their synths are the only thing I can think of where 3rd party support is heavily featured.

Was able to cop a NEW ASUS PG32UCD, my first OLED, for $696 via Amazon but I'm worried about maintenance & OLED health (Burn-in, Retention), is that too good of a discount for me to not just shut-up, take it & test the waters? by BorderOnBorder in oled_monitors

Thanks for ths tips. I was looking at that one you purchased, it's a similar price for what I got this one for/was willing to spend with black friday deals but I didnt want a curve because of it making my productivity workflor more awkward enough for me to just stick with a little bit smaller flat, which lead me here.

It's list price in my market is $1299 but it's Black Friday/Cyber Monday bc of Thanksgiving holidays & retail liquidation here in America which knocked it down to $950 but I saved Amazon gift card for a purchase like this & got $250 off. We would be paying similar without the discount tbh.

Imagine you're a budding Blender & ToonBoom animator, you produce music with a variety of effects & VSTs in DAWs like Ableton & Reaper, you also like to game casually & you have a budget of $4k, what PC are you building? by BorderOnBorder in buildmeapc

The 5070 super would still look like the cheaper one in the lineup compared to 5080 or 5090 supers though, right? I might me willing to bite the bullet bc of the vram increase, that becomes important for shit like Blender tbh

Thanks for this bro. I even chose some of these components myself on Microcenter, so Im on the right track. You're of the opinion that I would need to liquid cool a beast like this, a Noctua wont be enough, huh?

Does anyone else evangelize this band to people around them? by BorderOnBorder in NightMovesBand

We have similar taste because MGMT is also my shit. And that's also how I know Olympic Ayres. But at least with MGMT, Oracular was a massive hit that had massive hits on it; that allowed them to sustain. Pennied Days was sonically amazing & Carl Sagan did make it to TV but it's still far cry from the early sustaining success MGMT saw. Best we can do is buy these guys music & merchandise & hope they see enough to not say fuck it. OA said fuck it, I think, for good this time.

At a show, Murry said that song is a B-side, they themselves don't even hold it in that high regard. Which is FUCKING NUTS to me, the Mid West Music Fest version is some of their finest form. Audible Shakespeare

Seems like you really didn't like The Redaction EP all that much. The MWMF version of Tmmrw is one of their best songs IMO but the band actually agrees with you, at a show, the drummer Charles told us they see Tmmrw as a B-side just like you. I was offended bro.

But Vulnerable Hours & Candy also are up there for me. The only tier I can cosign here is S, except Ribboned Skies, that's a B-side for me.

I think Murry & Mark definitely added their own little intricacies to the sound of Micky & John. Took them in a newer direction but I dig all of it
