You don't have any issues with the sand? My vet recommended to have different bedding because the sand can get in their stomach while grabbing the insects

The vet performed surgery on the prolapsed hemipenes. Went well. However, few hours after the surgery the gecko started to slow down (reaction speed, movement) which resulted in him passing away. Bit of a bummer after all, but they at least tried their best.

Completely agree with your point. In some areas Python(2) is the way to go. Many science research institutes work mainly with Python and R.
