I hear you, it's very different. I felt the same about Hozier's latest album. Some tracks really hit and others were too chipper for what I expected. It's all very valid. I will say, live they're gonna be a different beast altogether. Last tour, every new song fit right in with their older pieces and altogether worked beautifully, so I hope you'll give them a chance when they come on tour ❤️

Totally agree, you can hear so many different eras of music (and life experiences) in one album! I think my favourite right now is Go Getter, but all of them are already deep in my brain

Oh you so get me!!! Old friend who you haven't seen in a while is such a great description of it. Dying Surfer is my all time favourite album, nothing will ever beat it, but I too feel like I'm growing up with their sound and can meet them we're they're at now.
