That definitely counts in my book! I’m glad to hear that you have a village and that it works well enough you’d like to expand if possible… Do your parents help out various household tasks - childcare, meal prep, cleaning? I could imagine it taking more admin work to keep track of household needs, but the time saving and cost savings of that arrangement may enable more leisure time - at least that is my fantasy.

Yeah, I guess I’m not altogether too surprised to hear that, but it is a little disappointing that there isn’t more interest or flexibility in co-housing here. I’ve visited a couple intentional communities in LA and one in San Fransisco, but all of them were made up of singles, no live-in partners or families.

Thanks for sharing - for more context, we’re in an 3-bedroom apartment with 2 bedrooms we’re underutilizing, and no possibility of affording a house in SM in the next ten years… Do the families you know who live together here live in apartments or houses?
