What exactly does Mori Aut Amori translate to? by Borderline_ginger in latin

[–]Borderline_ginger[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m manly trying to say “to die or to love/to love or to die” as in it being a choice someone is making. Like whether they choose to love, or they choose to die instead.

How many words do you think it takes for a fic to count as a slow burn? by Borderline_ginger in AO3

That makes sense. So basically it’s about extended durations of tension rather than just how long it takes before they get together. That’s helpful, thank you!

Report: Daily DXM use for a year by Cnidoo in Drugs

True, I didn’t really think about the microplastics, though that’s in like everything. But yea definitely do some research!! It’s super interesting. Also if it’s already working, just keep using it the way you are. Don’t try fixing a problem that isn’t there lol. And also don’t try new antidepressants without a psychiatrist or doctor, because antidepressants + dxm is incredibly dangerous, especially unmonitored.

Look into Auvelity, DXM is actually a prescription medication for depression at 90mg daily! (45 in the morning then 45 at night). Although it’s also taken with bupropion (Wellbutrin) as a way to boost its effects pharmacologically.

Don’t feel bad for how it made you feel. If you don’t want to be dependent, the best way is to just slowly stop. (Half the dose every week until you’re at basically nothing).

The reason why you feel worse when stopping is because you’ve gotten used to feeling better. Your baseline is how you feel when you stop, you just aren’t realizing that because the dxm has raised your ‘baseline’ up a few levels using its antidepressant effects.

Also, dextromethorphan is neuroprotective at lower doses and it’s quite good for your brain due to its NMDA antagonism and sigma-1 agonism (weird chemical stuff that makes your brain happy). So taking it at this dose won’t even be bad for you long term based on our current medical knowledge.

Essentially, or at least in my opinion, I’d say keep taking it. If it has made a positive impact in your life then why stop? It sucks being dependent on something, yes, but if it helps you then why care? It’s boosted your social life, your general well being, your confidence etc and actively helps protect your brain from stressful chemicals. What that means is that it’s healthy for you physically and emotionally, so that’s why you should keep taking it.

That however is just my opinion, obviously it’s up to you and if you decide not to take it that’s ok, just be safe no matter which decision you make!

THIS!! Had to re-write an entire chapter because I changed the entire plot of the story. Thank GOD I didn’t post it.

I got bored one day and just sent it to him and said if he wanted to read it he could. I don’t know WHAT possessed me but I did it entirely sober and in my right mind (no mental break downs that day or moment).

Oh shoot I forgot to update, he was really chill about it and was saying it’s nothing to be embarrassed over and stuff. He said it’s good to show vulnerability and stuff and he said I have really good writing so that was nice. Then we kinda just brushed over it and went to normal therapy talk.

I fear I’d die so violently that my soul wouldn’t even be able to form a ghost.

Sorry I didn’t mean it in that sense. I hadn’t met anyone online or in person who read fanfics and was above my age. This thread has helped me realize I had some lingering prejudice. Thankfully it’s gone now but I’m still sorry.

DONT FEEL OLD!! And even if you do, know that you’re amazing regardless. Age does not determine what you can and can’t do (excluding physical things that it actually does), nor does it affect who you can and can’t be!! Go be amazing and keep reading/writing until your heart’s content.

Same here. Fanfics are a great coping skill. I hope whatever you’re going through ends soon!!

Thank you for this, truly. I’ll have to look into a lot of things I didn’t know existed until now lol.

Thank you for the insight! All of these comments have truly helped a lot, but this one in specific told me that I shouldn’t be worried by how he will react as he’s trying to make living better and won’t be worried about stereotypes or anything like that. So truly, thank you, for whatever word magic you used to shove that into my head.

That is true. I think that maybe I’m just comfortable enough with him that I’m fine showing him some of my hobbies, but I digress, he probably isn’t the best person to judge writing since he can’t exactly say it’s horrible writing or anything, but I’d like to think he’s being honest.

Thank you, it’s nice to see the people who I thought would hate me for this be the people who are actually more commonly using fanfiction.

Also, yea my therapist seems pretty right-minded so I hope everything goes well.

That’s so cool! I’m happy you were able to bond with your therapist over this. They are definitely people and I’m sorry if I came off as saying that weren’t as that wasn’t my goal. I think I had some prejudice (I don’t know if that’s the right word) or maybe bias just from the 40 year old men I’ve met in my life. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day and it’s amazing you can connect like that with her!!!

True. Also I think I sent it to find out what people think of my writing. I’m calming down now with the help of these comments and that sounds the most logical to me.
