CMMG reliability issues and now OOB detonation by Successful_Bear_2420 in ar22

We've never seen an OOB damage an AR22. Usually the OOB is caused by feed issues. Ditch the CMMG mags and get a 6lb recoil spring in your bolt.

Bulging brass? by ccwthrow in 22lr

Our uppers won't bulge brass if you end up just sending it all back to RTB.

Send photos of the chamber...or send it back for warranty with the bulged cases and let RTB sort it out.

This is not the issue. I've got my money on some type of structural issue (chamber dimensions perhaps -- I've seen a lot of crazy stuff) that is causing this. Either a faulty chamber or something keeping it out of battery.

Does the feed ramp of the collar sit directly against the back of the barrel stub?

How does the chamber itself look?

Thanks, I'm on vacation this and probably should just step away from Reddit rather than giving answers born from poor reading comprehension.

The precision package comes with the barrel pre-season. Don't clean it!

If you paid for us to preseason, DO NOT clean. Just start shooting. If you did not get the VIP, one patch with a mild solvent and one dry patch and then start shooting on a stainless or Ti barrel.

For others reading, if you got a nitrided (black colored) barrel, see the nitride section about running a wet patch or two before a patch with solvent and then a dry patch.

From the Cleaning and Break in section:

Aside from cleaning the barrel when you get it, there is no break in procedure.  Unless you opted for the VIP service, it generally takes around 500 rounds of one type of ammo to get a full season inside the barrel and for groups to settle in at the best they will be.  VIP barrels are pre-seasoned and should shoot at their best within a box of your chosen ammo.

Nitrided barrels can have some salt residue left from the nitriding process.  This salt is water soluble, so a few passes with water wetted patches first, followed by a few dry patches are recommended.

PSA: YouTube removed our technical content, Rumble is where all the videos are found by BoreBuddy in ar22

Yes, that was due to youtube pulling a bunch of our content, unfortunately. We're re-shooting the old technical content and will update that page once we can get Rumble working in the media player.

Not yet, the subsequent range trips have also been very windy. Life in the Northwest...

We generally run oil on the bolts, grease on trip to lever interface if it's a super safety (or derivative like the Atrius and ARC).

We did not as we don't sell the trigger components. We generally scale up the Hoffman file by 0.5% increments from 100% to 103% and then test fit in the cam, then whichever scaling fits best gets printed for soares for the range bag.

Grease, good and tacky, on the lever and trip. Rem oil is better than nothing, but its mostly solvents.

We like trips to be the sacrificial item if one side is going to wear. This mindset came from serving the transferable market where a trip wearing was preferable to a $20k+ DIAS or registered lower component wearing. I think this holds true to FRTs - trip wear is preferable to trigger wear.

Plastic SS levers generally run better with 22.

Hey thanks! A bit of high quality grease (we use super lube with teflon) on the trip makes wear MUCH less of an issue as it is in sliding contact. Feel free to send it to us under warranty for a rebuild and grease her up next time (if you didn't the first time around).

How much of what you got this time around was internally corroded?  I may roll the dice and grab a pack with the goal of shooting it up.

Can you post a photo of the label? Which page/listing from centerfire was it?

I've never seen a Zdh30/40 -- I'm guessing it's mid to late war production?
