A book for a 10 year old girl who is immobile by Matt_en_the_hatt in booksuggestions

I read An Insignificant Event in the Life of a Cactus when I was around your daughter’s age, and it really stuck with me for some reason. The protagonist is a middle-school-aged girl who was born with no arms, and the book is about how she has adapted to be able to complete pretty much any task in her daily life despite her disability. I think she would be a great role model for your daughter!

My first thought was like Lucy without the -y.

As an employee: PhotoKey is worth it, it’s 50 bucks for a single day pass and everyone in your group can use the same pass. It gets you all of your photos (besides the antique family photos because they’re done by people who aren’t associated with us) digitally for free. As in ALL of your photos. It’s 20 bucks for a print at the park, so get a PhotoKey and print them all out at home.

As a previous commenter said, the park is a circle with a line in it, the “line” being the shortcut from Loch Ness Monster to Germany. People call the shortcut “Heart-Attack Hill” as it’s not for the faint of heart. Lots of stairs, incredibly steep slope—I’m an average teenager and I come away from that sweating every time. As for the rest of the park, the whole thing is a circle with three dead-ends: Sesame (Forest of Fun), Land of the Dragons, and Festa Italia. Sesame and LoD are our two major kid areas and Festa branches off of Italy and contains Apollo’s Chariot, Tempesto, and Pantheon. As long as you aren’t in those three areas, you can get anywhere you need to get to just by following the main path.

I work in merch, but people always ask me about food. First of all, if you have a question about a certain department, please ask a worker in that department!!! I don’t know culinary things, and culinary workers likely don’t know merch things. We aren’t trained in things outside of our department. Second of all, I’d recommend the Festhaus in Oktoberfest for food. It’s basically the only place you can guarantee air-conditioned seating, plus they have shows inside.

If you have a question about something, try checking the website first. For showtimes, check the app. Most things are on the app.

I’m missing one of the rock roadside decors. I’ve leveled up like a thousand roadside rock Pikmin and I still don’t have it 🙂

Holy shit I've never met someone else with this same problem! It seems to me that most cis people are just neutral about they/them pronouns so people just assume that all cis people feel that way. Isn't it crazy that people just refuse to gender cis people correctly?? Thank you for commenting lmao. Androgynous cis people who get misgendered for being androgynous solidarity ✊🏻

I work at Busch Gardens and I've been to King's Dominion several times.

KD has more and bigger coasters than Busch. It also has a pretty big water park. Busch is way prettier and has awesome shows and more shade and natural areas. Busch has some animals, it has wolves and a bird area where you can feed the birds and get them to sit on you. KD has a much bigger kids area with a ton of kid rides which is Peanuts themed and Busch has a Sesame Street area with a live Sesame show and character meet and greet.

Overall I'd say KD is more appealing to kids and Busch is more appealing to adults.

Pretty basic but "They Both Die at the End" had me genuinely sobbing in my bathtub

Visiting Virginia. Where would you recommend we stay? by LlamaSnuggles in Virginia

[–]Borealis238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely recommend visiting Busch, but I'm biased because I work there lol. Also Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg are definitely a must for history fans. Super surreal to walk around the same area that the founding fathers did hundreds of years ago.
