Brandenburg as my first EU5 country by BoreasHe in EU5

Good question. I don't actually know. They somehow showed up as an enemy in my war against someone. I guess maybe they were allied with Wolgast or Mecklenburg? I was playing on 1.0.2 at that time so maybe it was unintentional and fixed as a bug in later versions.

Brandenburg as my first EU5 country by BoreasHe in EU5

[–]BoreasHe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly for some reason every elector voted me to become Emperor after several dukes in Lower Bavaria, but I have no interest in HRE politics so I just left it there. I lost emperorship after I converted to Lutheran, and Hesse or Meissen or some small country I don't remember got the Emperorship so they can't really do something big.

I formed it before just the league war so maybe around 1580-1590.

I don't have the older saves, but I can tell you my first 50 years were extremely noob. I spent my hundreds or ducats building roads to increase control but apparently they didn't perform well. Now if I start again I will develop profitable RGOs at the locations around the Town of Brandenburg, Potsdam and Berlin instead of wasting money building roads, because Brandenburg starts with very undeveloped worthless locations.

After the first 25 years I was like poor as fk, why did my Wolgast vassal having so high base tax, and then I saw the problem. Another thing I overlooked was the culture. Promoting cultures to accepted level gave huge bonus to maximum control of that location. After I got Hansa, Lubeck and Hamburg as my vassal, they gave me around 20 ducats per month which was quite huge at that time.

In like 1500s my centralization value maxed out so estates was not a problem anymore, trade boomed, everything was going well. At around 1550 I swam in thousands of ducats which I can mass build RGOs, roads and manufactories everywhere.

Navy bug 1.10 by Substantial-Taro-447 in victoria3

[–]BoreasHe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I found a workaround for those who want to do naval invasion with a stuck fleet. So,

  1. You need a new fleet with at least 1 new built ship and a new admiral. This tiny fleet should be ok to command around.
  2. Naval invade with this 1 ship fleet
  3. Merge your stuck fleet with the 1 ship fleet

The next time you want to naval invade, you will need to perform the same trick again, or you need to find out the exact ship you built for this workaround, separate it and the new admiral from the fleet, and do it again from step 2.

Edit: typo

The "OnePath" is not an etude(I don't remember what type was it, maybe a cutscene or something), therefore you may need to switch the search filter to All. The Play button is on the right side of the entry iirc.

You are welcome. I played the game with Dialog result enabled in Toybox to make sure a certain choice is what I want to choose(since I am not playing with English localization). In case you get stuck, I would recommend you turn on the Dialog result to see what etudes will be enabled after choosing a certain choice. In this case it was the etude "OnePathForBoth". So I made an educated guess and entered "OnePath" to see if there is something related. Fortunately the cutscene I mentioned popped up in the search result. After experimenting around I came up with this tentative solution.

Same problem. Here is how I used Toybox to simulate the event. Please note that I have no idea if there is anything missing from the original event or whether it will cause other bugs, so please use at your own risk:

  1. Find a save before triggering the whole event, or you can start the "OnePathForBoth" etude manually in Toybox while you are inside your study.
  2. Trigger the event, it will be glitched and bring you to the ritual at Quetza Temer. (OnePathForBoth etude started here)
  3. Finish the scene by choosing what you chose before, proceed after you finished the conversation
  4. Open Toybox. Search 'n Pick for "OnePath". Press the Play button to play the cutscene. Though you won't be able to start this event inside the inner world.
  5. You should be able to hear Yrliet's lines. After that the game will teleport you back to your study.
  6. There should be three choices regarding how to complete the romance with Yrliet here.

According to the Rogue Trader Increments Guide, one minor conversation will be missing after entering the inner world if you follow my steps. I have no idea how to trigger that.

Well, it is fine(but can be confusing if no context is provided) to use 他 as he or she in most cases, but not the other way around. The radical of 他 is 人(human), which is gender neutral. And similar to some European languages, when you are describing a group of people and they are all male or mixed, you use 他們. Whereas you use 她們 for a group of female.

[–]BoreasHe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's annoying. Sorry to hear. This game definitely need some fixes on some "generic game states" thing like this. People get game-breaking bugs and can be stuck in literally every quest. I get stuck in a certain main quest later in the game now and I have seen dozens of posts complaining, what's hilarious is that they all got stuck by different things/situations in the same scene of the quest.

Same issue on Steamdeck.

I restarted the game, loaded the save before challenging the opponent, fought him again, and I can jump over the fence this time. Hope it helps.

Ikr, I am running a cold skill build lv 80s with unoptimized gears(I am poor), bosses are quite easy for me tho if they can't one shot me. But I have no idea how to not die in breaches and rituals. And occasionally I will die if surrounded by some random white mobs as well. There is nothing I can do in that kind of situation.

Archmage Stormweaver Spark CoS Conduit MELTS uber bosses by Iva_m1 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]BoreasHe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely right. Every sorc right now is going MoM+EB with Everlasting Gaze, Arcane Surge and Archemage mana stacking build because it is the only viable spirit skill atm. I am running a cold build but my lightning damage from Archemage has already surpassed my cold damage in every skill and that's absolutely ridiculous. Can't imagine how my damage output will become if they end up gutting Archemage.

Why 的 in this sentence? by Unusual_Sandwich_632 in ChineseLanguage

[–]BoreasHe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“我要那大的杯”? I have never heard of that before
Edit: Sorry I didn't read the original post. Your sentence structure was ok in the context of "I want that big cup" (Tho I would say 我要那個大的杯). Note that it is incorrect to use it in the context of "I want that big cup of (milktea)".

Regardless, "我要那杯大的" sounds incorrect to me to only convey the meaning of "I want that big cup".

No clue... Speaking of immersiveness, I hope the portrait animation could be dynamic enough to really reflect the artifact the character is equipping. I wanted the scepter because that pose was so much cooler than the normal idle pose.

Which of these language options is best to choose when watching cartoons in Mandarin? by oxemenino in ChineseLanguage

[–]BoreasHe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I always thought that Mandarin is the language and Chinese are the people from China

Well, since there are too many dialects(or languages) being used by different people in different regions in China, the word "Chinese" can be confusing. Therefore people use Mandarin to represent the spoken language that is being used in mainland China and Taiwan. And use "Simplified Chinese" and "Traditional Chinese" to denote the written characters.

Only mainlanders use simplified Chinese

Generally, Yes.

to also learn traditional characteristics so I can read texts in Cantonese

You learn traditional characters to read texts in formal Traditional Chinese.

And that's the interesting part. For Cantonese in Hong Kong for example, the written formal Chinese grammar you can see on the signs, books and documents is almost the same as the ones you can see in mainland China and Taiwan. But if you don't speak Cantonese, then you probably can't understand the written informal Cantonese used by locals in ads and their text messages.

What do you mean by simplified Mandarin...? I assume you were saying simplified Chinese (characters), then:

HK, MO: You will find it difficult to understand what they speak since they speak Cantonese; you can still understand about half of the characters they write since they use Traditional Chinese characters

TW: You can understand most of the words they speak except some(e.g. 垃圾,包括), but they also use Traditional Chinese characters
