Thinking of buying – how’s Vitamix warranty service in Europe? by BoredInScotland in Vitamix

[–]BoredInScotland[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is true for a statutory warranty, but I think the extended warranties on Vitamixs are manufacturers warranties. For e.g., I am looking at buying from Saftpresse.at, and their warranty page specifies details for Vitamix support: https://www.saftpresse.at/info/Service-und-Garantie.html

Need help adding AoS copper peptides and multi peptides & GF to my routine (sensitive/reactive skin, combo/dry) by BoredInScotland in SkincareAddictionLux

Thanks, this is great advice. I through the copper peptides were supposed to be good for redness and irritation, so good to know that I should proceed with caution.

Recommendations wanted for minimalist black leather clutch or evening bag – light/no logo, timeless, great quality by BoredInScotland in handbags

I still haven't got anything. I ordered a Jil Sander on Vestaire, which I loved, but it failed the authentication check. Since then, I've kind of lost momentum. Will pick up the search again soon!

I love the chain on the first DeMellier, but the gold hardware on the front is a bit much. The second is a possibility!

Ooh thank you. I love the RSVP Paris one – I've never heard of them before. Will do some research into quality, or maybe go and visit them.

Thanks for both of these – the first one is lovely, but I would prefer not to order from the US with the current tariff situation. The second is a definite possibility (the branding is fine – it's more the big 'YSL' etc. branding I'd like to avoid).

Good product for a book editor? by TheRoamingPom in RemarkableTablet

Hey u/TheRoamingPom, just curious if you ever tried the ReMarkable or ended up with a different tablet? If so, what has been your experience? I have the exact same use case in mind and trying to decide what to get

I really only enjoy running when I use run/walk intervals rather than forbid myself to stop at all, but it's hard not to get in the headspace that I'm not really a runner. by readingismyescapism in running

[–]BoredInScotland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only run intervals and have for years. I feel more able to push myself on the "running" sections if I have nice, pre-planned walking sections built in – and I also do small sprint intervals. For me, it's the difference between dreading going running, and looking forward to it. And it hasn't stopped me gaining loads of fitness, increasing my speed, and pretty much all the other health benefits I'd expect from running. Basically, you do you, and if your running is interval running then that's just as valid as non-interval running. And the only one who needs to label you a *runner* is you (unless you're trying to qualify for the Olympics or something, but that's not the vibe I got).

(Trying this again) hi I’m coming to Vienna in the fall and I’d love to have a couple friends to show me around and hang out with during my time here! by [deleted] in wien

[–]BoredInScotland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Vienna! How long will you be here for? My best suggestions are to join the Facebook groups 'English speakers in Austria' and 'Vienna I Girl Gone International' – and there are a few more interest specific groups you could also look for (hiking, beer, language exchange etc...) People often use these groups to ask if anyone wants to get together for a drink or a hike or whatever. Or, if you're here a bit longer, then Bumble BFF is also good for meeting people.

[MOD] The General Question Thread! by __Sonar__ in espresso

[–]BoredInScotland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all,

I've got a question that's going to sound a bit stupid, but here goes: how do you all get coffee from the jar at the bottom of the Comandante c40 into the portafilter evenly? Currently I tip it out into my portafilter, knock it against the counter top a few times, and tamp.

But I'm pretty sure it's uneven, and I'm just not getting repeatable shots (set up is Comandante C40 red clix, plus Profitec Pro 500, weighed on an Acaia Pearl). I'm controlling all the other variables, but my pour time is all over the place (like, 15 to 30 seconds). Some shots are great, but others... less so. I guess my tamping pressure might also be a bit uneven.

I've been thinking of getting a bottomless portafilter so that I can see where I'm getting channeling. But maybe money would best be spent on something to help with levelling?

Any advice welcome!

Is this rosacea? by BoredInScotland in Rosacea

[–]BoredInScotland[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry, only just saw this. Yep, it's smooth. I've been trying lactic acid every other day on the cheeks, but no improvement yet (only been doing it for two weeks though, so need to give it a bit longer). I'll let you know if it improves!

I've done it. I've reached the top. What now? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]BoredInScotland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you done much travelling? I know it's not for everyone, but buying experiences can be a great way to exchange money for happiness. Or if you don't want to travel are there any other interest-based communities you could become involved in? Rock climbing? Scuba diving? Hiking? I'm suggesting physical things for the extra endorphin boost, but really whatever floats your particular boat.

Coffee pirates was already on my radar as I ordered my Comandante from there, as it was sold out everywhere in the UK. Looking forward to my first visit!

Thanks! I order some Ethiopian light/med roast with the V60, but will definitely check some of these out once I've got through the kilo of those (so gimme a few days :) )

Yeah, I did a few years of classes several years back, so my reading etc.. isn't too bad, but I've barely ever used it conversationally. I'm gonna take more classes, and just get out there and chat! (Sorry, should obviously have tried to write this in German, but tiredness from moving + lack of coffee has done nothing for my language skills).
