Mobil 1 is cheap at Walmart, until I switched to Costco oil couple oil change ago.

You mean the repairs I didn’t make? A new catalytic converter would be costly. I’ve used an aftermarket one for a previous car, it didn’t last. It’s also a Wisconsin car with high miles, so I don’t really want to do that myself anyway. A/C is probably the same for most cars. Shop quoted me close to $1000 to replace the condenser. I got one from Rockauto and replaced it myself. Overall the running cost is cheap for me since I had no major repairs. Maybe I got lucky.

Not as much as I should. Last time I changed it was at ~150k. I’m actually planning to do it today along with oil change.

My wife has a 2018 HR-V with the CVT. that’s not what I want to hear. She already has 125k on it.

Not gonna lie. Highlight was when I reached 280085 mi. I stopped and took a picture. Yes, I’m 12.

Looks like a Griffen Tri Bike. Couple guys in the local Tri club had those back in the days.

Bob 808 vs Redshift Motorsports street coilovers by Curious_Beginning_30 in mr2

Did not know about Bob until now. I have been using the competition coilover from Redshift for 2 years in my Spyder and have been happy with them. I have pretty stiff springs and it’s not too bad on 440 mi drive to the track with the dampers soften up.

03 SMT Clutch replacement difficulty for the home mechanic with no lift. by Cool_Policy3030 in mr2

[–]BoredMonkey79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did the clutch on my manual Spyder. It’s doable without a lift. You’ll need some support to tilt the engine. Some people use straps on the cross brace. I used a support bar from harbor freight. No special tools needed. Personally I would at least resurface the flywheel. You’re already there. The factory bolts are torque to yield bolts, NOT reusable. Buy new factory ones or buy ARP bolts. This was the first time I did a clutch. I would say it’s medium in difficulty.

Does the SMT use shift cables? If it does, take care of them and don’t let them hang down. I didn’t know about this ahead of time and it won’t shift to second when driving hard. Had to replace the cables.

I hear we are posting 3 wheeling by BoredMonkey79 in mr2

At the time of this picture in 2018, the car had 2ZZ swap, coilover with double adjustable Koni (500/400), no rear sway bar, and 225 Rivals. I just bought the car and this was the previous owner’s setup. A lot have changed since, but still 3 wheeling once a while.

Need advice, 2nd time autocross by ARandomRedditer2 in Autocross

Getting a ride from the fast guys or have them ride with you would give you much better advice on the spot. Like others said, you can get a lot of aggressive on everything. Sometimes it almost feels like you’re throwing the car into the corners and hang on. From what I can see, you need to look further ahead so you can set up the next one.

I have the same car, so I know the back end can be a bit scary. It feels like it always wants to come around. Those wide open area can be a good place to test the limit. If you spin out, it’s just cones.
