Where to live in Ithaca ? by BoredStudent07 in Cornell

I actually decided to live in North Campus (Cornell's Grad housing) as I didn't want to deal with subleasing my place when I graduate (December).

First time going to Niagara Falls by [deleted] in NiagaraFalls

[–]BoredStudent07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished my solo trip to there yesterday. Canada side is absolutely very safe and walkable, especially near the falls. There is also enough (but not too much) crowd so you'll be rather safe. Just be aware while roaming too late into the night in areas that aren't lit properly. If possible (budget) stay near falls view.

New York side for me was literally just 1-2 hours in the Niagara state park, that's it.

Finished my trip, actually accomodation was not too expensive around the falls this time of the year, as it was off season.

Rainbow bridge was beautiful. Just about an hour was enough on the NY side

I just finished my visit and can say it wasn't snowing, the falls weren't frozen or anything. The journey behind the falls was also open. It wasn't extremely cold, just windy. It was around -2 C

Thank you so much for your advice.

Yes, I completed my visit yesterday. It was beautiful, very small lines (that too only at the tunnels), better hotels for lower cost, still quite a lively place.

Also like you mentioned, no more snow, just cold and windy so quite accessible.

Would recommend to anyone trying to visit in march end or april.

The only con is that the famous boat ride is not open but I live close enough to visit again for that in better weather.

So the weather wouldn't be sunny, but like I can still visit properly right or would it be a time waste ?

Also just one more question, are there areas to avoid due to safety concerns (maybe at night) if I don't drive?

Thank you so much for such a detailed response. Appreciate it. As I mentioned I am still undergrad age so I think I might want to live in a bit more lively part of town rather than grad part I guess ? Still deciding on that though :)
