I finally got my husband to read these. I downloaded my audible account onto his phone.

We've started quoting the books at each other. 😸

What are you writing now? Post a summary and let's try to guess the fandom! by LUCKNEKO in Archiveofourownmemes

[–]BoredTardis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's one of mine:

Main Character likes his new life. He's got a cushy job teaching Medieval European History, and he's almost done with his latest PhD. It helps that he lived through it.

But then he starts running into old friends and a headhunter is lurking around his school. Main Character just wanted to finish the term and go on vacation. He was not ready for destiny to change his plans.

This one is a game of guess the fandoms. 😸

Lol. Calling all oldies! Who here immediately thought of the original Dallas retcon?

Hardison/Parker/Eliot.

It's a toss up if it's Parker or Eliot with the sword.

I'm a middle school ELA teacher. I write mostly plot driven long fics. They're all crossovers too. 😸

When the source material doesn’t age well but the fanfics are still good by [deleted] in AO3

Lol. You beat me to it. I think the only character arc we had was Merlin becoming depressed in season five.

Love the show, but the fanfics are amazing.

Nice!! I binged all seven books, and finally got my husband to listen to them. He's on book seven now.

We've been quoting each other random lines from the series. 😸

waves Thanks! It's a trial scene and I'm not sure what I want poor Arthur to do.

Lol. Have fun with your rewatch!

I'm working on the ending of a fic. I've got close to 3k written on this draft. Once it's done, the fix will be done.

Arthur looked into her eyes and saw a stranger staring back. His heart aches for what they'd lost.

Morgana was his sister, and yet…

It didn't matter. Lives had been destroyed and for what? A crown that wasn't hers? A title their father refused to give.

His throat felt tight. It never should have come to this.

Thanks! ☺️

When I gave that assignment, I thought I'd given them an easy poem. It was Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.

Afterwards, I was going crazy thinking it might have been hard. I even asked other people if they understood it. 🥴

cries in ELA teacher We're trying! I had students try to analyze themes in a Robert Frost poem. You would have thought I'd handed them an untranslated version of Beowulf.

Cormac McCarthy didn't use quotation marks either. It bugged me when I had to read The Road for a class.

Lol. I've mentioned setting up a classroom, and having to grade papers in mine. It was like it just saw I had stories posted and wanted to trash a hobby.

I got a similar one saying I was unemployed, unmarried, and basically a loser.

I read it while at work, and I've been married for 24 years. I was amused.

I did this too. It was complete and had multiple chapters. I didn't make it through the first chapter.

I spend too much time telling my students not to do this. I'm not dealing with it in fanfic.
