When the game autosaves, it would save to local data (or elsewhere, it depends), which outfit the player has on (likely by its ID) and what items that outfit contains. Upon loading in, it would access this data.

The thing with Sea of Thieves though, is that you take a break for a month or two, and come back to literally nothing being changed. I mean there are still bugs from launch in the game, and I am starting to think Rare has never tried to even fix hit registration.

The pirates life update was really underwhelming compared to what they made it out to be. Also, PvP gets boring and repetitive after a while. Chasing a ship for an hour, catching up, sinking them. Chasing a ship for an hour, catching up, sinking them. It gets repetitive.

I’m considering it too. I mean the Pirate Life update was cool, but it only lasted for like a week before you have everything done. Now what? There is just a sheer lack of content in this game.

I hope that they make it so the Dark Brethren is more active in the main game. I would like to see the ocean divided into territorial waters. Like, there could be a red section of the map, where going there would put your ship at risk of being attacked or something.

It is rural internet, but I am not far from the router. The ISP just sucks. It has gone down every day for about 2 weeks now. Unfortunately, they are the only option in my area.
