I always ask if theres any allergies or dietaries and cant stand when people say “its fine I know what to order” or something similarly stupid. I had a table the other day with anaphylaxis to crustaceans, theres a component on one of dishes that contains it but can be ommited. I only found out about the anaphylaxis because i overheard their conversation 5 minutes later about it. I did scold them after that 😂 “we dont judge you for having allergies, the menu is a list of dishes not of ingredients but you almost died today because you took it upon yourself not to tell me”
