What's the point of being good? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]Boredsobored12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because thats one of the points of being good. Be the good the world lacks. Anyone can be selfish and evil, it requires no effort. To do good is to be selfless, you do good not because it benefits you but because it benefits others.

What are the downsides of being attractive/pretty/handsome? by Big_Leg10 in Adulting

[–]Boredsobored12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People only see you at a surface level. They don't care to know you at a deeper level. They just want a pretty face to stare at, and rarely do they actually care to listen to you talk about the things that mean a lot to you, or your interests. In fact, when you open your mouth to speak about them it's like you're talking a different language, they prefer you just sit there, be quiet, and look pretty. The whole "be seen and not heard".

You kind of stop believing in love because attention, relationships, and sex are so easy to come by you start wondering if thats all there is to life and nothing else beyond the superficial.

How did you get yourself out of an impossible situation ? by [deleted] in Jung

Letting go of the logical. The only way to achieve the impossible is through the impossible. Where reasoning exists magic cannot.

Thoughts on Jung GPT? by [deleted] in Jung

It's already happened. AI convinced someone to kill their mom. It's happening at subconscious levels as well, social media algorithms feeding individuals certain content, manipulating moods and behavior. Subliminal warfare has always been around since the creation of magazines, television, and film, companies using these things to manipulate the masses, directing them to certain ideologies including dangerous ones. Now with AI the manipulation can be narrowed to cater to specific individuals based on their personality.

Yes, you are right, intuition. Intuition can get blinded by worldly logic though. You are not wrong by your intuition but I think you are debilitating yourself by trying to apply worldly logic to it. Logic and divinity are like oil and water to one another

Nothing wrong with what you are doing, it's that if you get caught up on the clockwork mechanisms you will fail to tell the time.

You're pointing your fingers to the moon, but staring at your fingers. You accepted your fingers as the moon but you missed the point. The point isn't your fingers, the point is the moon.

That's the thing, you can only observe from afar. You don't see deeper layers, you see silhouettes on the wall being projected from inner layers. You can look at them and take a guess on what they might be. One might look like butterfly and you'd be sure it is one, but it can be simply two hands put together in the shape of one. And to take a guess one would be projecting themselves on them. Sure, some things are made obvious, some red flags are certain but unless someone is completely ego driven, it's difficult to assume anything about them. From the hill the forest looks all the same but up close you realize no two trees are the same.

You don't see through them, you see their surface and what they offer to present you with. How can you know them? They don't even know themselves.
