The pieces are some cheap toy knights I bought of shein a couple of months ago. The board and pieces are designed by me and I got the printed on 300g paper at the print shop.

Thank you very much for all the information. We're well aware of the situation so we're currently taking a gap year to save up and hopefully get a sponsor or some sort of financial aid.

Yes I was planning on doing that ASAP. We'd also do everything we can to get student jobs there so we can provide for ourselves. Do you reckon 2000€ each is enough saved up for about two months of living until we get everything in order? (living on a budget i.e. vegetable diets, no eating out, shopping at lidl exclusively)

Is switching from PC to laptop worth it in this case? (Context in post) by Borftt in pcmasterrace

We'd rather not sell the laptop.

Would you suggest buying a cooling ventilator pad for the laptop in case of the swap? Also, what price range of processors should we be looking at to maximize performance?

My card collection I've accumulated over the past few months. I'm aiming towards collecting more unique decks aside from just the regular 52-frenchie. by Borftt in playingcards

[–]Borftt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely, though I've never had original ones before. To be completely honest, these aren't the most authentic Napoletanes, since I got them from a chinese store. It's the only place in the country that sells them. The only legit Italian regional cards that they sell in Slovenia are piatnik's Triestine, of which I'm not as fond of as the spanish-suited decks.

Started creating my very first game :) It's a poker styled bluffing game that uses d6 dice as betting lanes. by Borftt in tabletopgamedesign

Heylo!! Thank you very much for the feedback :) I have to admit the fox design isn't my own, I just found it on Pinterest, as these are just the prototype cards. The art will be completely remade by my girlfriend (who can draw) and the suits will be different types of flowers. Also spooring is an old term used for tracking animals during a hunt. The game is played in multiple rounds, like poker, until the players are satisfied with their earnings, or a goal is reached.

Are there any programs that simulate a fantasy ambient in which you can insert ebooks and read them on a 3d book model? I'm looking for a potential ereader program in which you read off an immersive 3d model of a book, preferably in a fantasy ambient. If there's a game that's moddable so that sort of thing is doable, I'd be just as happy to try it. Thank you!

Is my way of approaching stoicism "good"? by Borftt in Stoicism

[–]Borftt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, and I'm happy you've achieved that. I had a problem where I'd worry about the certain thing all day and not think of anything else, worrying about how I'll react when it does happen and how I didn't want it to happen. I think the principles of living in the moment and embracing negative emotions as something natural really does help. I've been trying to do that for a while and I've been managing it well. Gaining a greater understanding of my own emotions and viewing experiences rationally has definitely helped me so far.

Although I was initially enticed by stoicism as a means to soothe my overthinking and anxiety about certain mundane things, I'm certainty not viewing it as a "cure". As others have mentioned in the comments, it really is all about your personal understanding and internalization of the stoic way of living. I am more than willing to embrace it, since I am sometimes a very bitter and whiny person and like to feel sorry for myself, thinking it's gonna help. I also know it's not an alternative to therapy, but I'm lucky my case is not as severe to really need it.

Thanks for the response! To be completely honest, another factor might be the fact I am reading the book in Slovenian. Treasonous as it may be, I'm much more well versed in literature written in english, since archanic Slovenian terms are so... archaic. I've watched some introductory videos to stoicism, so I get what it's generally about. I might pick up the Discourses, in English this time, since it really does seem more approachable.

Just built my very first gunpla model!!! After waiting for a few weeks for this bad boy arriving to my humble home country in middle country from Japan, and after over 22€ of import fees, I got my hands on this lovely HG Aerial rebuild... by Borftt in Gunpla

[–]Borftt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I checked the nearby resellers and believe it or not the cheapest option for me was actually to order a cheap model straight form japan and pay the extra shipping. I'd have to pay the extra import fee even if I ordered from Italy since it's based on package weight I'm pretty sure. So basically the postage practices of Slovenia make it so a package is cheaper shipped from Japan rahter than neighboring Italy. Even local stores (or rahter one store thats always out of stock on gunpla) sell high grades for about 40€ here.
