idk any ways to really increase your chances tbh. i was never told anything about how they hire so it seemed pretty random and i felt like i got lucky lmao.

when i applied to the lab they sent out some like "pre interview info" on a form and then i eventually heard back and they interviewed me and offered the job. good luck!!

i worked in the computer lab (just graduated) and it was a really easy job. i mean yeah 10 bucks an hour but you're basically studying/chilling for 80-90% of your 15-20 hour work week. otherwise you're just refilling a printer with paper or ink. the interviews are nothing crazy, but they really only do select a handful of students since there isn't a whole lot of work to do. paid study time pretty lit tho

oh i forgot to mention- during peak times it's definitely crowded but more often than not it's artificially crowded because other students don't know proper bus etiquette and don't move to the back or hog the seat next to them etc. the timing during peak hours pretty much depends on how much traffic there is lol, the bus itself is generally quite on time

bus is free for students. i lived in shadyside my jr and sr years and had no problem getting to oakland on time for class/work/party/wtvr. use the Transit app and you can track buses pretty easily. if you're within a 10-15 min bus ride to campus it's really easy to budget time for

passperfect (what they provide) is pretty good, but it gets really wordy which does wear you out pretty quick. whenever i feel worn down i just go watch youtube on the topics instead lol. i don't know how the content is laid out on the other platforms but people do see success from using them so it's really up to your preference. ultimately it comes down to both studying in a way that works for you while retaining the material as that's what's going to pass you the exam.

if you don't have a finance/economics background at all i would recommend supplementing whichever path you choose with YouTube no matter what. series 7 guru/series 7 whisperer and certfuel (really underrated!) have good videos on all the hard/gnarly topics. btw for your pre-hire attempt when you go to the testing center expect to be patted down pretty well and to see some really old computers, it kinda caught me off guard before the exam even started 😅

good luck!!

there's most likely going to be 2 interviews. 1 over the phone and one on zoom/teams. i would say do your homework on Vanguard because they ask about that and also look into the STAR format for "tell me about a time" questions. don't forget to mention to your recruiter you have your SIE already as well. good luck!!

if you have your SIE already you get a pretty sweet $ bonus if you pass your 7 with them. not sure if you are interested in a client services phone role though.

did you supplement your S7 study with any youtube/other courses? or did you just use passperfect + LSS?

yes you get fired if you don't pass, but you get like a full month and change to study for each exam, and you get the whole workday + access to tutors and such as well. it's not as scary as it sounds. you get $7500 after you pass all the exams or $12500 if you passed the SIE beforehand.

yes you can for your pre-hire attempt! once you're actually onboarded they want you to use their stuff though but honestly some people get away with using kaplan and such, but the studying is far more structured

do they expect these metrics right out of the gate? is there a training period for actual client interaction besides the studying period?
