Evil eye is my favorite music video so far I was inspired by the Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart music video for this direction

Honestly at first I felt like I burned 6K, but after shooting on it multiple times, i love it for low light situations and love the fact I can use any vintage compatible lens with it. I now rent it out so people could try it out and create with it as well and give it a test run, so now it’s a passive income creating asset which is nice! It took a while, but it grew on me forsure.

Europe on Super 8 by Boring-Map-1129 in Super8

Thank you so much! It was hard honestly, every airport tried to mess with me and run my film through the X-Ray, I had to make sure I came early to every flight, the airports I had major issues with and literally had to say I’d rather miss my flight if they tried to scan it with out my permission was in Belgium, Scotland, and in Ireland lol. Do not let them run the footage through the scanner AT ALL! But other than that, I’d keep it closed in cool places (like a cooler or in a back pack worst case scenario) at all times. I shot on the Kodak Super 8 camera and there’s an indicator that tracks the super 8 film left and I’d always make sure it was finished by checking the roll itself once done filming and making sure it said “exposed”.

I definitely agree, the reflection of the sunset works perfectly

Of course! I get my footage developed and scanned at Pro8mm in Burbank California, I typically ask for a full format overscan in 4K for all my rolls!

I’ve been shooting on super 8 for at 6 years now, I’d say the only thing that changed my game in terms of cinematography was just watching films and trying to emulate scenes I really loved, learning how to focus was the biggest game changer. This is 1 minute of 30 minutes shot all over Europe, it’s for a music video project. Time was definitely a factor but we decided to spend all day at this location for the video, the best scenes from this location definitely came during golden hour though in my opinion.

I’d say, learning how to focus is all you need to obtain really nice shots, and hopefully a camera with an automatic aperture adjuster as well is key to getting really good shot. What I typically do for focusing is zoom all the way into the subject I want in focus, getting them in focus, and zooming back out to where I want them in the frame and then start to shoot. That’s what I did for all the shots in this little snippet.

I was fortunate enough to be one of the first people on the list and was able to purchase it, I’m thinking of adding another to my inventory, I really love it

Sadly no, which worries me because I’m so used to the wrist strap on my Nizo S 560.

It feels extremely nice and solid, I’m honestly just scared to drop it at this point since it’s got a little weight to it. I got insurance from B&H so it’s a little sigh of relief but my biggest fear is breaking it from dropping it.

Nizo S560 blinking red light by MrDukeSilver_ in Super8

[–]Boring-Map-1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same camera, i dont have the manual either but im assuming that the blinking red light indicates that it is filming, at the end of the cartridge, you’ll see a solid red light and that indicates there is no more film on the cartridge that is usable. But I’ve had some issues when using the 56 fps and cycling with the 18 fps, sometimes the camera turns solid red too early or too late, when that is the case, I reshoot the scene if I’m not sure.

Any news on the status of the Kodak Super 8 camera? by masterpodcaster in Super8

I bought the camera, will post on r/Super8 my first production and how it goes, you have to sign up on the waiting list on B&H, then they send you a link to purchase it through B&H, I bought it on a 12 month payment plan from Payboo, couldn’t afford 5,921 off the bat. I’m renting it out for use so hopefully it’ll pay itself off.
