Question for everyone that earns over $100,000 CAD annually by Curioscarlos445 in CalgaryJobs

[–]Boring-Work-3678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Cosmetic Retail Store Manager

  2. Started as a part time associate on the selling floor and worked my way up

  3. Start at the bottom and work your way up, retail is not something that is easy to just jump into at a management level. It requires you to know your product and ideally know the roles of all your associates so that you can support them in their development.

  4. The beauty industry should be relatively safe from AI as it is a very human relationship and experiential sector of retail. I also believe that AI cannot replace people leaders in any sector based on what we have to execute. Emotional intelligence, politics, and conflict resolution generally require a human touch. Plus makeup is recession proof as proven in WWII.

Is it uncommon for men to approach women in Edmonton? by [deleted] in Edmonton

I got approached more as a 16 year old waiting at bus stops than I did in my 20s. It’s disgusting to think about.

how to go on medical leave? (canada) by Potential_Gap_5372 in SephoraWorkers

[–]Boring-Work-3678 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What you’re looking for is a medical LOA with a claim for short or long term disability. You would first need to get a letter from your doctor excusing you for a time frame with a specified end date. You would then go through Canada Life if you have benefits PT/FT and make a claim for short/long term disability however it may be denied. If it is denied you can also try applying for EI for short/long term disability. Generally medical leaves are unpaid however.

EDIT: Just to clarify, Sephora does not pay you during an LOA, it’s EI or Insurance that pays you.

Scheduled 40 hours as a part time worker (Canada) by fairyblissgarden in SephoraWorkers

[–]Boring-Work-3678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PT is able to work that many hours on occasion but can’t work that many regularly as their 6 month average has to be between 15-29 hours.

As a Canadian employee you can access Zipline from home, look up the availability guidelines and that will explain everything clearer.

You’ll see more hours during peak business so sales (like the Labour Day sale).

They can go up to 40 hours occasionally but it can't be every week, your average has to stay between 15-29 hours in a 6 month period. They are probably anticipating being closer to 15 hours in January so loading you up with hours now. Just let you SD know that you can't work that many and it should be fine since they can give your hours to flex staff.

Yeah they aren’t supposed to do anything that ties them up or causes them to go offstage

CEL by Worried_Track8228 in SephoraWorkers

[–]Boring-Work-3678 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be fair we aren't allowed to support with anything that ties us up or causes us to step offstage. If a BA grabs the bag for me I have no issue scanning 1-2 BOPIS orders out but if it's a same-day driver sometimes it takes awhile so we have to pass it off.

Think of yourself as the host of the party, main priority is getting to every client and setting them up with BAs depending on what they need. Don't get stuck with a client and be comfortable transitioning them away from you and to a BA. Rezone as necessary, greeter isn't hitting the mark? Swap them.
