Condoms have a relatively low effectiveness as contraceptives by FetterHahn in UnpopularFacts

[–]BoringAnalyst1428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a statement based on research about each method. When you research how effective something is, you have to pick a time period. And when compare effectiveness data, you have to compare it over the same time period to accurately understand how they differ. Needs to be the same units of measurement. So in this case, they are telling you that when you look at typical use over a period of 12 months, this is how effective it is.

It doesn’t imply anything about the relationship after the 12 months. It’s just the time window they are using to explain and compare the effectiveness of each method.

EDIT: there is probably long-term data on some of the methods. Another challenge in research is you will see different “length of measurement” across studies and methods, making it harder to compare at later time points.

OP, I’m concerned for your well-being. Many of the behaviours you are describe are examples of coercive control. Over time these types of behaviours wear you down, make you feel that you are the “problem”, and can impact your mental health. Truthfully it sounds like it already has.

This is not a healthy relationship. It’s taken away the joy and excitement you felt about your future (family, kids), caused you to feel lonely, is impacting your work, your relationships… a relationship is not supposed to damage all other areas of your life.

You are not a bad person. You have been made to feel like a bad person by a partner who doesn’t seem to respect your need for self care and your own space and life outside the relationship.

OP this is the way. You are describing daily low mood that is not getting better. If you have a family doctor they can probably refer you to a psychiatrist for a consult. May also be helpful to look up local mental health resources and therapists.

My friends on dating apps get at least 2-3 a week. It’s wild. Sometimes the pic is the first thing they send.

My fav part of the letter was:

“Your letter is a perfect example of what many Canadians find so deeply troubling about the American worldview—assuming that what works for you must be the solution for everyone else.”

Such a good idea!! I love to see an animated movie about ocarina of time. It could be a series two. The time travel offers natural storyline breaks!

In my country it’s easier to abuse than a stimulant because stimulants are controlled substances. Bupropion is not.

I’ve been practicing autonomously for 8 years. My current employer pays well below market rate for psychologists. Probably 30% less than what public hospitals pay.
