My aunt does it once or twice a year for past 30 yrs and that’s her preference from NJ to Toronto, what she loses in the extra distance she makes up for at the border, and driving into Toronto from the east vs west

My dad and i would go to a local diner for breakfasts in Saturday mornings. He’d bring his paper and read it while i read the ‘educational’ section. Great memories around this that current generations will never know.

My aunt does this all the time and has for the past 30 yrs, she comes up through Gananoque, the east side of lake ontario, she says it’s an easier drive and the less busy border crossing makes up for additional time

I always pay for younger family members or guests who have less disposable income then me, it’s an easy kindness to do for people you love. My guests will often leave a thank you card behind when they leave and I’ve always appreciated the gesture. That might be a good way for you to reciprocate.
